残念な日本語たち "Japanese" during the trip

日本でもたびたび「変なフランス語」がありますが、海外でも多々見かける「変な日本語」。
We can find some "weird French" in Japan, and also, "weird Japanese" in foreign countries.

1)

フランスのパン屋さん、PAULのサンドウィッチの袋。さすがフランス！透明な紙を使っているのね！
・・・明らかにプラスティックですが、「紙」のマークが。ミスプリして日本で使えないから、フランスで使ってるのかしら。。。まさか日本では使われてないよね？？
A sandwich bag of French bakery PAUL. Bravo France! They use transparent paper.... This is obviously plastic but the mark says "paper". I guess they can't use this "wrong" one in Japan so they use in France...maybe.

アントワープのノートルダム教会に売っていたポストカード。フランダースの犬関係の日本語グッズがたくさん売られていましたが、、、
A postcard I bought at Notre Dame in Antwerpern, Belgium. There were many products of "A Dog of Flanders" sold in the church...

「ネロ」。。。。「ロ」が切ない感じ。。。

ブルージュの聖母教会に入ると、この立て札が。うん、、、頑張って書いたよね。。。
You can find this plate at the entrance of Our Lady Church in Brugge, Belgium. I can understand the writer tried very hard...

Eurail Pass

日本には外国人観光客向けの「ジャパンレールパス（JR）」というものがあります。連続した何日間か有効で、在来線はもちろん、特に追加料金もなしで、成田エクスプレスや新幹線に乗ることも可能（ただし予約は必要）。
There's "Japan Rail Pass" for foreign tourists in Japan. You can use all JR lines and some Express trains such as Narita Express and Shinkansen without paying extra money (but reservation needed) for some days in sequence.

ヨーロッパには、ユーレイルパスがあります。が、こちらは便利なんだかよくわからない時があります。。。まぁ、イギリスを除く主要な欧州諸国全てで使えるってことなので、規模が違うかもしれないけど。カールおじさんも日本に住んでいるので、このパスを使う権利がありました。
And in Europe, there's Eurail Pass. But I am not really sure if it was really useful or not. It might be difficult to make it really "useful" as it can be used most of the Europe countries (except for the UK) and could be very complicated. Carl can use it as he's living in Japan for a while.

今回買ったのは、「フランスーベネルクス セイバーパス」という種類。欧州は広いので、使う国を限定することで、より安くなります。ちなみに、ベネルクスは、「ベルギー」「ネザーランド（オランダ）」「ルクセンブルグ」の総称。ベルギーしか行かなかったけど、この3国は小さいからか、ひとまとめ。「セイバーパス」は2人以上のグループで行動をともにする場合、チケットが更に安くなるというもの。 また、ユーレイルパスも、日数が選べますが、決められた期間内なら、使う日を選ぶことができます。
This time, we bought "France-Benelux Saver Pass". You can choose some countries you'll visit and the pass could be cheaper then. (FYI Benelux=Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) And "Savor Pass" is for a group of more than 2 people who travel together and it is also cheaper. You can also choose the number of days and on which days you use (not necessarily in a row).

円高だし、ネットで買ってチケットを郵送することにしたのですが、日程が迫っていたため、フランスの実家に送りました。それでも通常便じゃなかったので、20ユーロくらい取られた気がしますが。。。
ちなみに、発送元はアイルランドみたい。２人で６日間およそ６万数千円だったかな。
Since JPY has been stronger, we bought it online and sent by mail, bus as there weren't enough time, we sent it to Carl's home in France. Still it was a kind of express mail so it costed 20 euros I think (by the way, it was sent from Ireland). I guess it was sixty some thousand yen for 6 days/ 2 people.

向こうに着いて、パスを使う前に「有効化」しなければなりませんでした。大きめの駅でできるということでしたが、土曜だったので、みどりの窓口的な所は閉まっていて、でも特別に普通の窓口のお兄さんがやってくれました。駅員さんでも、ユーレイルパスに通じている人はあまりいなかった印象です。。。
When we arrived in France, we needed to "validate" the pass. But it was Saturday and the tourist office at a station (sort of larger one, though) was closed (!!). Fortunately, the ordinal counter guy kindly did it although it wasn't his job. Plus, I got a feeling that not so many station staff know very well about Eurail Pass.

ちなみに、パリのメトロと郊外鉄道RERで使えないのは、やっぱり痛かった。
I wish if the pass could be used for Paris Metro and RER...

フランス国内のTGV（テジェヴェ）とベルギーへ行くタリス、ベルギー国内の鉄道で使いましたが、高速列車の予約は現地でした方がいい、とオフィシャルサイトに書いてあったので、そうしました。TGVの場合、予約1件につき3ユーロが必要で、タリスの場合は27ユーロです。。。
We used the pass for TGV and Thalys (to Belgium) and Belgian domestic railways. It was recommended on the official website that we should reserve the seats in Europe and we did so. For TGV, we have to pay 3 euros for one reservation and 27 euros (!) for Thalys.

問題はここから。北（西）フランス方面（モンサンミシェル等）の旅行の予約はパリ郊外の駅でして、残りの全てはサンマロ（ブルターニュ）でしたのですが、サンマロの駅のおばちゃんによると（このおばちゃんだって、エキスパートではない）、ユーレイルパスで予約できる席数というのが、列車によって限られているそうなのです。だから、なかなかいい時間の列車を予約することができず、席の位置も微妙だったりしました。特に南仏ニームに行く時は、ニームもTGVが止まる駅なのに、直行便が取れず、乗り継ぎ、しかも超朝早く。そして、「乗り継ぎ」の場合はTGVの予約が2件扱いで、倍額取られました！！納得いかない！！！
The problem is...
We reserved trains for the trip to North (west) France (Mont Saint-Michel etc) at the station near Paris and at St-Malo for the rest of the trip. According to the madame at the counter (I believe she was no expert in the pass), the number of seats for Eurail Pass users were limited in every train. So it was very difficult to find convenient trains and the seats weren't good either (not next to each other etc..). Especially for Nimes in Southern France, although Nimes is one of TGV stations, we couldn't find a direct train and needed to change in the middle and it was very early in the morning too! Furthermore, we were charged double fee for changing TGV!! It's ridiculous!!

しかも、かなりの頻度で電車は遅れましたが（ベルギーでもね）、TGVの場合、予定より30分以上遅れると、何％か返金されるシステムがあるらしいのですが、ニーム帰りの電車は30分遅れたけど、その理由が鉄道会社側の責任ではなかった（お客さん？の人為的な問題とか）とかいうので、返金はありません、というアナウンスが流れていたと、カールおじさんが笑っていました。意味が分からない。。。
In addition, most of the trains we used were late (in Belgium, too), and if you use TGV, and it was late for more than 30 minutes, they would refund several % of the fee. On our way back from Nimes, the TGV was 30 minutes late, but they announced it wasn't their fault (it was some passenger's fault?) and there's no refund, Carl told me so smiling. Ils ont raison??

そんなわけで、不便さを感じながらも、カールおじさんの計算によると、それでもパスを使った方が安かったみたいです。ユーレイルパスが悪いのか、フランス国鉄（SNCF）が悪いのか。。。
We weren't fully satisfied with the pass, Carl calculated all the fees and still found it was cheaper to use the pass. I don't know which was bad...Eurail Pass or SNCF (or Belgian?).

あと、カールおじさんのフランス語がなかったら、結構しんどかったと思います。この言語の問題に関しては、後日また。。。
And I think it would have been sooooooo hard but for Carl's French. I would like to talk about this language problem some day...

Day13 Goodbye France 13日目 さよならフランス

長いようで、あっと言う間。家族としばらくの別れを惜しみつつ、、、
プレゼントも含め、荷物のパッキングには苦労しました。。。すでに重量オーバー。。。
最後はmamanに車で空港まで送ってもらいました。
It felt like long but actually very short. It is always hard to say good bye.
And we also had difficulty packing our stuff (especially gifts...) we knew our baggage was already over-weight. Maman drove us to the airport.

チェックインはオンラインで済ませていたので、荷物だけ預けて（ちょっとオーバーしてたけど、課金されなくてよかった。。。）、カメラのTax refundのためにdetaxeカウンターへ。
As we already checked in online, we just dropped our baggage (thank god they didn't charge for over-weight) and headed for detaxe to apply the tax refund for my new camera.

どうやら返金が現金とカードとで窓口が違ったみたいなんだけど、現金の方にはヴィトンの紙袋を抱えたアジア人が列をなしていました。。。通訳のカールおじさんに一緒に来てもらったけど、窓口のおじさんが言っていることは、何となく分かった。。
「え、日本から？デジカメなら日本で買った方がいいじゃない」
大きなお世話じゃい！！！私だって買いたくて買ったわけじゃない。。。
It seemed that there were counters for refund by cash and by credit card. And there was a looong line of Asian people holding Louis Vuitton shopping bags to the by-cash counter. Carl was with me to speak in French, but I understood what the counter guy said!
"From Japan? You should bought a digital camera in your country"
I didn't mean to!!!!

スタンプを押してもらった書類は封筒に入れて、ポストへ投函。
We posted the stamped tax paper.

出発までの時間、カフェで一服していたのですが、最後に3人で写真を撮ろう！とタイマーを付けてやっていたら、トナリのおじいさんが「撮りますよ」って申し出てくれました（ブレてたけど　笑）。よくよく話してみると、フランス人の義父母と日本人の母子づれで、子供を奥さんの実家に連れて行くところだったそうで。その日本人女性に挨拶すると、いきなり・・・
「大阪の方ですか？」
「・・・！？」

前にもロンドンで似たような経験があったのですが、日本→大阪出身？となるのだろう？？私はたいてい、「どちらからですか？」と聞くぞ・・・笑　もちろん、その質問をした人たちは大阪出身でした。

We had a cup of tea at a cafe and trying to take last pictures using the timer. Then an old French man next to us kindly offered a help (well, his pictures were fuzzy though! ;-). And we found that there were his wife, a Japanese daughter-in-law and grandchild and they're seeing off the mother and the child to leave for his grandparents in Japan. I said hello to the Japanese lady and her first word was:
"Are you from Osaka?"
"....(what!?)"

I had a similar experience in London... The person who posed the same question was also from Osaka but I'd ask "Where are you from?" in this kind of situation. It is often said that people from Osaka are very proud of their hometown and hate Tokyo.

エールフランスのターミナル。新しくてきれい。シャルル・ド・ゴール空港は今まで良いイメージがなかったけど。ちなみに、Roissyという呼び方もよくされるのね。成田も、新東京国際空港という名前があったけど、今では成田が正式名称になったらしいけど。。。
The terminal for AirFrance. It's new and beautiful (I didn't have a good impression on CDG airport before). And I learned that people often call it Roissy, too. Narita airport used to have an official name New Tokyo International Airport but they're now officially Narita International Airport.

飛行機ではあんまり眠れなくて、映画などを観ていました。

・17 Again
気になっていたので、プログラムに入っててうれしい♪17歳でデキ婚して17年後、ボロボロの人生を送っていた主人公が17歳に戻ってしまうという話ですが、17歳の主人公役のザック・エフロンの可愛さも去ることながら、「フレンズ」のチャンドラーことマシュー・ペリーが大人の主人公を演じているのも気になっていました。笑えるし、おもしろかったです。
I was really interested in this film so happy to watch it! The story is about a man (Mike) who did a shotgun-marriage when he was 17 and ended up lonely, boring life happened to become 17 again. Zac Efron who acted 17 y-old Mike was also charming but I was also interested in the adult Mike acted by Matthew Perry (=Chandler in FRIENDS). It was a funny movie!

・Revolutionary Road（レボリューショナリー・ロード 燃え尽きるまで）
ケイトとレオ様はすばらしかったけど、とにかく重かった。。。仮にもハネムーン帰りに観る映画ではなかったと思う。。。
Kate and Leo were both brilliant in the film but the story was too heavy...to see on the way back from honeymoon...

・Yes Man
ジム・キャリーっていくつなんだろう。。。おもしろかったです。
I wonder how old Jim Carrey is.... But it's a fun movie.

あとは、シンプソンズなどを見ていたのですが、シンプソン家の母マージの旧姓がブービエ（Bouvier) というフランス系らしい名前だって知ったのが衝撃（？）でした。私の好きなSimple Planのピエールの苗字と同じだし。。。
And I also watched some episodes of The Simpsons and was surprised to have found Marge (the mother)'s maiden name was Bouvier: very French name. I remembered it very well because it is also the family name of Pierre in my favorite band Simple Plan.

成田には朝の8時頃着きました。カールおじさんは「再入国」だからちょっと時間かかったけどね。
We arrived at Narita around eight in the morning. Carl needed to be on the "re-entry" line so it took some time.

Day12 Reunion in Paris 12日目 パリで友達と再会

最後の日は、以前日本にも来たカールおじさんの親友と会えることになりました。アメリカに留学していた弟さんが帰国するとのことで、空港に迎えに行く後、パリに来てくれることに。
The last day in France, we were able to see Carl's best friend who came to Japan last year. His brother who was studying in the US came back in the morning so he first went to the airport to see his brother and then came to Paris.

午前中はmamanとカナダのお友達と例のハイパーマーケットにお買い物に。
We went to the hypermarket again with maman and Canadian friends.
私の好きなお菓子コーナー。半端ない。。。。
My favorite snack and chocolate bar shelves.

セルフレジもありますが、大きいカートを使ってる人はダメらしい。。。こっちのレジは遅い！（一人一人の買い物が多すぎ？）
There're also self registers but we couldn't use it because we used a big cart. I think it takes too long to pass the casher here! (maybe each customer buys too much).

ここのショッピングモールには、イースターの時にもらった可愛いチョコのJeff de Brugesがあるので、そこでもお買い物。
There's a Jeff de Bruges shop in this shopping mall, so we also shopped there.

目移りしてしまいますなぁ〜。色々試食もさせてくれました。チョコは箱単位で売ってくれるので、箱のサイズを選んで、あれとこれと・・とお店のお兄さんに詰め合わせてもらいました。あとパットドフリュイも買った♪
It was really difficult to choose! And we were offered to taste some, too. We can choose a size of a box and ask the clerk to fill it with favorite chocolates. And we also got the pates des fruits.

皮肉なことに、帰国後は濃厚な高級チョコを受け付けない体になってしまったのですが。。。
Unfortunately, I have had morning sickness since I came home and I can't eat high-quality chocolates as they are very strong...

その後パリへ向かい、シテ島のノートルダム寺院前で友達と待ち合わせました。今回、まともにパリ観光していないのですが、行ったことのなかったコンシェルジュリへ行くことにしました。その隣の教会も有名らしいのですが、ハイシーズンだし、ものすごく混んでいたので諦めました。
Then we headed to Paris and we met up with the friend in front of Notre Dame in Cite island. It was almost the first time to walk around Paris during this trip and we decided to visit Conciergerie. I also heard the church next to it was very famous but as there were so many tourists making a queue so we gave up this time.
両方で12.5ユーロ、コンシェルジュリだけでも8.5ユーロだから、両方のがお得なんだけどね。
It requires 8.5 euros only for Conciergerie and 12.5 euro for Conciergierie and the church.

コンシェルジュリと言えば、フランス革命の際にマリーアントワネットら王族や貴族がぶち込まれた牢ですが、元々は誰かの居城だったらしい。そこそこベルばらファンの私としても、思い入れの深い場所です。日本でもデパートにいたりする「コンシェルジュ」ですが、門番、管理人という意味があり、その人たちがいる場所だから、コンシェルジュリ。
Conciergerie is famous as it was used as a prison for Marie-Antoinette and other noble people during the Revolution, but it used to be a castle of somebody. As a petite fan of Lady Oscar (The Roses of Versailles, in Japanese), I wanted to visit there for long. We can find "concierge" at department stores in Japan, but it originally means a guard or manager/caretaker in French and "conciergerie" is a place where those people stay.

This is the room of Marie-Antoinette. I hesitated to use flash so it's dark... And the objects displayed are said to be belongings of her.

この絵の中に、カールおじさんのご先祖様がいるとか！！関係ないけど、ここの階段で落ちそうになった、、、危ない危ない
It is said that Carl's ancestor is in this painting! I was almost fell from the staircase here by the way... so dangerous...

コンシェルジュリを出て、友達の電車の時間もあるので、モンパルナス駅近くのカフェでお茶することにしました。セーヌ川を渡った所からのコンシェルジュリ。
Conciergerie from the other side of the Seine. Since the friend had to leave Paris in a few hours, we decided to go back to Montparnasse station and have a cup of tea until his train.

彼はトゥールーズまでTGVで5時間かけて帰りました。。。仕事休んで来てくれて本当にありがとう
He went back to Toulouse by TGV which took 5 hours... Thank you so much for taking a day off to come to see us.

旅の疲れもMaxを迎えていたし、つわりの前兆だったのか？ものすごく気持ちが悪くて、最後の夕食をスキップするハメに。。。mamanのサーモンが。。。。。・ﾟﾟ･(≧д≦)･ﾟﾟ･｡
I think I was exhausted by the restless-almost-two-weeks journey and could have been a prologue of the morning sickness, I was so sick in the evening and had to skip the last dinner...I missed maman's salmon!!!!

Day 11 Nimes 11日目 ニーム

北方ばかり行っていたのですが、今度は南へ！カールおじさんのおじいちゃんおばあちゃんに会うため、南フランスのニームに日帰りという強行軍でした。。。だから、観光は一切してません
We had been to the north but this time to the south! We went to Nimes in South France to see Carl's grandparents and it was one day trip (I won't recommend you should do that...). So, no sightseeing!

朝6時半に出発し、パパに車でパリ・リヨン駅まで送ってもらい、7:50発のアヴィニヨン行きTGVへ乗りました。サンマロで予約したチケットはおばちゃんが間違えたらしく、行き先が違っていて、問い合わせたかったのだけど、時間がないので、とりあえず乗車。そのうちマリオみたいな車掌さんがやって来たので、カールおじさんが聞くと、なんかOKみたいだった。っていうか、早朝のTGVでガラガラだったし。。。
We left home around half past six in the morning and Papa drove us to Gare de Lyon. We got on the TGV for Avignon departed 7:50. The tickets we reserved at St. Malo were wrong ones (the SNCF lady made a mistake and retried, but she handed us the former tickets) but we didn't have time to ask at the station, so we got on the train. Then, a conductor looks like Mario (brothers) came and Carl asked him about the issue and it turned out to be fine. Well, the TGV was so empty because it was very early.

リヨン駅には9:40ごろ到着。昨日もらったラデュレのマカロンをいただき。
The train arrived at Lyon at about 9:40. We had the LaDuree maracons on the train.

終点アビニョンには11:20ごろ着。次の電車まで30分ほどあったので、ちょっと駅前に出てみた。
We arrived at Avignon, the terminal, at around 11:20. We had thirty minutes until the next train so we took a small walk around the station.

アビニョンも古い街みたいだね。カールおじさん曰く、「南仏っぽい」らしい。建物の感じとか、ひまわり、ラベンダー畑が広がるところは、たしかに南仏、プロヴァンスのイメージかもしれない（実は南仏にはあまり興味がないので、良く知らない）。
Avignon seemed to be an old city. Carl said it really looks like "South France". The buildings, fields of sunflowers and lavenders... my images of South France and Province (I'm not that into South France, so I don't know very well).

次の電車はローカル電車。で。。。なぜか徐行運転。なぜか40分遅れ。すると、前の車両からパンク姉ちゃんが歩いて来た、、、と思ったら、よく見ると車掌さんだったカールおじさんが言うには、「この電車はタマゴ運んでんのよ（＝だからノロい）」と冗談言ってたらしい。日本ではこんな車掌さん、まずお目にかかれない。
The next train was local, but suddenly it started to run soooooo sloooooowly. And it was 40 minutes late. Then a punk girl walked down the aisle....she was a conductor!! Carl told me that she was joking "This train is carrying eggs! (so it's slow)" We can never see this kind of conductors in Japan...

やっとニームに着いたのは、13:10（本来なら12:30）。駅を出ると、おばあちゃん、続いておじいちゃんが出迎えてくれました。時間もないので、おばあちゃんの運転する車で、目的のレストランへ。
Finally, we were in Nimes at 13:10 (supposed to be there at 12:30). When we got out, there was Grandma and then Grandpa! We already wasted time (thanks to SNCF!) so we got on Grandma's car and headed for a restaurant.

南仏ニームはすごく暑くて、日本の夏みたいでした。ここは昔ローマ帝国の街があった場所なので、コロセウムやローマ式の古い建築物があることで有名らしいです。その円形劇場は車から見ました。ちなみに、デニム発祥の地らしく、de Nimes（ニームから）からデニムになったとか。
It was so hot there, just like the summer in Japan. And Nimes was one of the Roman city and there are many old buildings from Roman Empire. We saw the colosseum from the car window. And denims originate from Nimes (de Nimes=from Nimes :denim).

おばあちゃん、道に迷いながら到着。We got lost a little but somehow found the place.

ホテル内のレストランなのですが、隣接するホテルマン養成学校の訓練場として使われているため、値段がお得らしいです。オードブル、お寿司もあったけど、、、これは残念なお味。。。
It was a restaurant inside a hotel, but the hotel is also the place for trainees who belong to the school next to the hotel. So the price was reasonable. Hors d'oeuvre buffet. There were sushi, but...

デザート。Desserts buffet.

私たちは、おじいちゃんに風鈴を、おばあちゃんには大判風呂敷を差し上げました。お二人からはカップとソーサーのセットをいただきました。それから、今年はお二人の結婚60周年。子供＆孫たちで記念の冊子を作ったので、それを見せてもらいました。
つい先日製本されたものを受け取りましたが、白黒写真の若かりしおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんは、本当にハンサムなカップルで、まさにフランス映画から抜け出して来たよう。365日分のページがあって、みんなの誕生日や記念日、思い出の写真などが載せられていました。私もちゃっかり載っています。
We gave Grandpa a glass furin bell, and a big furoshiki cloth for Grandma. And they gave us a pair of cups and saucers. And it's their 60th anniversary of marriage this year, so their children and grandchildren made a memorial book for them. We read through the book and it was really wonderful. Their black and white photo, when they're young, was just like one scene from a French film. What a handsome couple! There're pages for 365 days with each family member's birthday and photos. It was really nice that there's one for me:-)

おばあちゃんはフランス語のみなので、ちょっとしか話せなかったけど、雰囲気が私の祖父母と似ていて、暖かいキモチになりました。私のことも歓迎してくれたし。帰りも道に迷い気味のおばあちゃんで、ヒヤヒヤしたけど、なんとか帰りの電車に間に合った。
As Grandma speaks only French, we couldn't talk very much, but they do reminded me of my own grandparents and I felt very warm. And I was very glad that they welcomed me. Grandma was again lost on our way back but somehow we were able to catch our train!!

帰りの電車はリヨン（Lyon Part Dieu）乗り継ぎで、また色々遅れ、パリのリヨン駅に着いたのは夜の9時過ぎ。。。
We changed trains at Lyon Part Dieu, our trains were late again and we arrived at Gare de Lyon over 9 PM.

しつこいようだけど、これで9時過ぎ。リヨン駅もステキね。Gare de Lyon.

Day 10 Garden Party 10日目 ガーデンパーティー

せっかく二人そろってフランスに来たので、結婚式に来られなかった親戚やお友達へのお披露目パーティーをすることになっていました。カールおじさん一家は親戚だけでもすごい数の人がいるので、お友達やご近所さん合わせて総勢50名はお見えになったのではないかと、、、
One of the most important part of this trip, to introduce myself as a new member of the family to Carl's relatives and friends. He has a big family and it seemed there were at least 50 people including friends and neighbors (!!).

完全アウェーの私としては、ほとんどが初めてお会いする人だし、とにかく緊張とプレッシャーでした、、、言葉の問題もあるし。でも、50名分の料理を用意するので、朝からキッチンは戦場で、それどころでなかったのも確か
I must say that I was sooooooo nervous! Seeing 50 new people was a big deal! And I don't speak good French.... But in the morning, the kitchen was like a battlefield to prepare food for 50 guests and I didn't have much time to feel anxiety.

ビュッフェテーブル。最初に見えたマダムがキッシュを持って来てくださったみたい！すごくおいしかった〜。ちなみに、私はお土産に持参した切り干し大根でビネグレットを急遽作成（※前回日本に来たとき、フランスの家族は大根を大変お気に召したようで、、フランスでは親指サイズのラディッシュしかないようなので）。フォアグラやお肉もパーティーのためにmamanが特別なものを用意してくれました。
Buffet Table. The madame who showed up first seemed to brought the quiche! It was so delicious;-) By the way, I cooked vinaigrette with dried Japanese radish (which I brought from Japan since my family in France liked the big Japanese radish very much when they visited Japan. They have the thumb-sized radish in France which looks very different). Maman also prepared special fois gras and meat for the party.

パパはお庭でお肉係。Papa grilled meat in the garden.

ちなみに室内には、結婚式の写真やビデオが。Photos and a video of the wedding were displayed in the room as well.

結婚式の時と同じように、「手ぶらで来てね！」とmamanは言ったそうなのですが、やっぱり色々プレゼントもらっちゃいました。わざわざ来ていただいただけで十分なのに。。。でもうれしいです。
Maman informed the guests to just bring themselves (like we did at the wedding), but some people brought us some gifts... I was glad, but felt sorry to have them come all the way and also bring the gifts at the same time.

デザートも半端ない！！！朝、パン屋さんから引き取って来た大量のシューケットにたまげました。
And the desserts !!! I was so surprised to see this many chouquettes brought back from the boulangerie in the morning.

!!!!!こんなに大量に見たことない。マカロ〜ン。家族は私のマカロン好きを知っていますが、ゲストの一人に、「日本ではマカロンあるの？」と質問され「愚問ですわ、マダム！！」とばかりにマカロン愛を語りました。
I hadn't seen that many macarons!! My family knew that I love them, but one of the guests asked me if there's macaron in Japan, and I answered "Of course, madame!!" with all my affection to macarons.

庭でのお昼寝場所を奪われたネコのBJはこっそりエスケープ。実は、長時間の立ちっぱなしと、フランス語の海にちょっと疲れたので、私も途中でキッチンにエスケープ。この時、ちょうどカナダから別の一家が泊まりに来ていて、関係ないのにいっぱいお手伝いして下さいました。私も、彼女たちと英語で話して、ちょっとホッと一息。
BJ escaped from the garden to avoid the crowd. To tell the truth, I needed some rest too so I escaped to the kitchen. Another family from Canada also visited the house and they helped us with the preparation and cleaning up, too! They're really nice people and I felt relieved to chat with them in English (because I was paying so much attention to understand French at the party).

LaDureeのマカロンをプレゼントしてくださった方も！今回行く時間がなかったので、本当にうれしかったです。
We also received the macarons of LaDuree. Since we didn't have time to go to the shop, it was really nice.

全員の名前を覚えるのはあきらめていたけど、写真をたくさん撮って、あとで復習しました。長い一日だったけど、いろいろな人と会えて、ちょっと話せて、よかったですパパの姉妹は紹介されなくても分かるほどそっくりだったし、一番年下のいとこはハリーポッターにそっくりでかわいかったし、マダム＆マドモアゼルは自然体なのにオシャレだった。
I gave up remembering everyone's name in one day, but we took a lot of pictures and I reviewed them to remember. It was a loooong day but I saw many people, talk a little and I was so happy. I was able to recognize papa's sisters by their faces, the youngest cousin was just like Harry Potter at the age of eleven and mesdames and mesdemoiselles were very stylish although they looked so natural.

ほぼ全てのゲストと「フランス式あいさつ（両頬にキスbisou）」をしたので、かなり上達したと思います。会ったときと別れるときと、だいたい2回＊50人だから、、、また、あいさつにかなり個人差があることも判明。
I did "French Greeting (=kisses on cheeks)" with most of the guests so I guess I have improved a lot! And I learned there're personal differences...

カールおじさんの元ベビーシッターさんが、「次に会う時は赤ちゃんも一緒かしら〜」と言っていて、「そう上手くいくかしら。。。」と内心思っていたのですが、この時すでに赤ちゃんいたのよね。
The lady who used to be Carl's baby sitter said "Next time we see you, maybe with a baby!" and I secretly thought "I'm not sure if everything goes that easy..." but the baby was already here then!

The mystery of 't 'tの謎

ベルギー初めて行ったときから気になってはいたのですが。。。
今回ブルージュでもたくさん見かけた 't（アポストロフィー T）の文字。カフェの名前の前とかについてて、写真のレストランの名前にもついていたのだけど、ガイドブックには「ケルデルク」としか書いてなくて、「じゃあこの'tはなんだ？？」と思っていました。

I had been wondering....
I saw a lot of "'t" in Belgium (Brussels, Brugge etc....) for example, before a name of a cafe. The restaurant of the photo, where we visited two years ago, also had "'t".

カールおじさんにも聞いたけど、もちろん知らなくて、気になったので調べた所、どうやらオランダ語の定冠詞の一つのようです。つまり、英語でいうところのtheで、hetの略らしい。ただし、英語以外の欧州語の多くには、名詞に女性や男性や中性や共性やら色々あるので、そのどれかは分かりません。。。

I asked Carl but he didn't know either. I looked up on the internet and found out that it is a determiner (=the) in Dutch. It is an abbreviation of "het" but not sure about the gender.

とにかく、わかってスッキリした。
Anyway the question has been solved!

Day 9 Brussels 9日目 ブリュッセル

電車の時間まで、ブリュッセル観光。
まずはカールおじさんの希望でベルギー漫画センターへ。
We enjoyed Brussels until our train back to Paris. First of all, we went to Centre Belge de la Bande Desinee which was Carl's choice.

もともとデパートだったらしい、アールヌーボー様式の建物も見事でした。日本語のガイド（ファイル）も貸してくれました。漫画の描き方から、歴史、有名な作品の説明などなど。カールおじさんもタンタンなどのBDが大好きで、家にもたくさん本があります。普通フランス語でmangaは日本のコミックを指し、タンタンなどの漫画はBD（Bande Desinee）と言うらしいです。ベルギーではふきだしにフランス語とオランダ語の台詞が入っていて、2言語じゃ書く方も大変だなぁと思いました。
I heard it used to be a department store and the building is "art nouveau". They lent me a guide in Japanese. They explain how to draw BD, its history and famous works mainly Tintin. Carl loves BDs like Tintin and he has so many of them at home. Manga in French refers Japanese comic books, and Belgian comic books like Tintin are called BD (Bande Desinee). In Belgium, they need to write both in Dutch and French which must be tough considering the space etc...

タンタン、シュトロンフ、アステリクス。青い小人・・・子供の頃見た覚えがある。日本では英語のスマーフって呼ばれてたみたい。
Tintin, Schtroumpf and Asterix. I remember I saw the blue dwarfs when I was a kid...it seems they're called Smurf(s) here as in English.

売店には日本の漫画やアニメグッズもたくさん売っていました。ちなみに、大人7.5ユーロ。They also sell a lot of Japanese mangas and their goods. 7.5 Euros for adult.

ギャラリー・サンチュベール　Galaries St-Hubert
そこからグランプラス方面に歩いて、ギャラリー・サンチュベールへ。またまたアールヌーボー調の屋根付き商店街はとてもオシャレな雰囲気。ここの子供向けのお店でムーミンのフランス語版を発見！購入。
Then we walked toward Grand Place and entered Galaries St-Hubert. It is an art-nouveau style shopping mall with a roof. We found a moomin comic book at a baby&kids shop here and bought it.

小便小僧　Manneken Pis

服着てる！初めて見た。前日は何も着てなかったのに。でもこの季節にマントは暑かろう・・・。
He's dressed! It's my first time. He was naked the day before. But I think he should have been so hot in the early-summer heat.

ここから、駅の反対側に行くのは初めて。前回はグランプラス周辺しか見られなかったから。バスやトラムを使ってもよかったんだけど、全部歩きで！さすがに足が棒になりましたが。。。
Last time I was here, I only looked around Grand Place. This time, we went to the other side of the station. There're busses and trams in the city but we walked and walked...and had sore legs in the end of the day.

ノートルダム・ド・ラ・シャペル　Our Lady of the Chapel

宗教画がたくさん飾られていました。ステンドグラスもとってもキレイで、しばらく座ってみていました。
There were many religious paintings. And the stained glasses were very beautiful. I sat on a chair and stared at them for a while.

そこから歩いて数分。。。ついに念願のピエールマルコリーニへ！
Just a few minutes walk...we were in front of Pierre Marcolini shop!

チョコレートが！！！！！！Chocolates!!!!!!

日本でも人気なので、こちらのお店にも日本語のできるスタッフさんがいるみたい。2階もお菓子が。。。日本のお店にはないあんなものやこんなものがたくさん。。。購入したものに関しては、また後日書きます。やっぱ感動はマカロンかな！空輸は難しいから。。。
カールおじさんが得意気に、「日本でピエール氏に会いました！」みたいなことをレジのおばさまに言うと、「あら、彼はつい2日前日本に向かったわよ」
Σ(ﾟдﾟ;)い、入れ違い！！（まぁ、いたところで会えたわけじゃないけど）。

Pierre Marcolini is very popular in Japan, too, so there was a clew who speaks Japanese. They also have upstairs where other gateaux were displayed... There were various chocolates/candies some of which are not available in his shops in Japan. I will write the detail of what we purchased later. The best thing was a box of macarons! They can't be transferred by air.
Carl said to the casher lady that we saw him in Japan then she replied "He just left for Japan two days ago" !!! What a coincidence! I knew even if he had been in Belgium, we were not able to see him..

そこからショッピング街のルイーズ通りへ向かったのだけど、途中はお世辞にもきれいな地域ではなかった。なんかアンティークショップがやけに多かったみたいだけど。
Then we headed for a shopping street called Louise Avenue, but I must say the area in between was not very clean. There were many antique shops by the way.

至る所に、こういった漫画か描かれています。かわいい。
We found many wall paintings like this.

最高裁判所。いつも電車から見える、ギラギラしたドームはなんだろう？と思っていたら、これでした。どうやら修復途中。下の建物に対して、ドームだけ金でなんか変。
The Supreme court. We wondered what it was every time we saw it from the train. It was obviously under repair but the dome was a way too shiny for the building and looked weird.

なんとか目的地へ到着し、気になっていたキッチン用品のお店へ。We got to the place somehow and found the kitchenware shop I wanted to go.

Dean & Kamille
あれもこれも買って帰りたかったけど、荷物になるし、壊れ物は持って帰れないので、、、残念。
I really wanted to buy more, but we didn't have much room in our luggage and couldn't bring fragile stuff...

ブランドショップの前を通りながら、ずーーっと歩いて行くと、王宮につきました。これは裏なんだけど。We continued walking in front of the luxurious brand shops and arrived at the back of the royal palace.

更に歩いてグランプラスに戻り、最後のお買い物。We finally got back to Grand Place and did some last shopping.

Leonidasでチョコがけイチゴをいただきました！！チョコの種類は選べる。おいしかった〜
それから、お気に入りのお菓子屋さん、La Cure Gourmande. ここのオリーブ型チョコがおいしい。お店の内装やラッピングも可愛い！！
We ate chocolate-coated strawberries at Leonidas. You can choose the type of the chocolate. Soooo good. And then my favorite candy shop La Cure Gourmande. I love their olive-shaped chocolates. And the interior and wrapping are so cute.

ホテルに戻って預かってもらっていた荷物を受け取り、そろそろベルギーにもおさらば。ホテルの前には証券取引所↓
We picked up our luggage at the hotel and we had to leave Belgium... By the way, there's the stock market in front of the hotel.

中央駅から南駅へ出て、タリスを待ちます。南駅はエキナカが充実しているので、ちょっと寄り道。
We got on a train at Brussels Central and off at Brussels Midi. There're many shops in the station so while we waited for our Thalys, we dropped by....

ハーゲンダッツでまたワッフル。A waffle at Haagen-Datz. lol

タリス到着〜。予約されていた席はなぜかちょっと離れていて、でも私のトナリは空いていたので、並んで座っていました。人が来るたびビクビクしてたけど、結局誰も来なかった。
Thalys again! The reserved seats were not next to each other (wonder why?) but there's nobody on my left so Carl was seated there. We were a bit nervous every time a new passenger came by but nobody claimed for the seat until Paris Nord.

夜遅くに家に帰ると、近所の公園で音楽祭をやっていたので、疲れていたのにちょっと覗きに行っちゃいました。We came home late at night but there was a music festival held in the park nearby, so we just joined in for a couple of songs.

Day 8 Brugge 8日目 ブルージュ

朝、アントワープのホテルで朝食を取っていると、TVでマイケル・ジャクソン逝去のニュースがやっていて、隣のイギリス人のおじさんと『マジで！？』ととにかく驚いていました。中級ホテルの朝食のところって、外国人が働いていることが多いけど、ここのアジア系のおばちゃんはかなり強く、「ジュースはどこ？」と聞いたカールおじさんは、「そこにあるでしょう！よく見なさい」と怒られていた（笑）

We were at the breakfast room in the hotel in Antwerpen and watched the news of Michael Jackson passed away on TV. We were just surprised together with a British man next to me. Many foreign people work at this kind of place (a middle class hotel) and there was an Asian mid-aged lady who looked really "powerful"? and it made me laugh when Carl asked her where the fresh juice was and was scolded by her "It's right there, look carefully".

出発　Departure
まずはブリュッセルのホテルに荷物を置いて来ないといけないので、早く出て、9:03のICに乗り込みました。朝だったせいか、思ったよりブリュッセル方面の電車がたくさんあって助かりました。5分遅れて9:45にブリュッセル中央駅到着。以前も使用したグランプラス近くのマリオットへ行くと、早かったけどチェックインできた。フロントでは（夫婦なのに）ツインルームでいいの？と聞かれたけど、だってツインのが広くていいと思うんだけど・・・。
We needed to drop our baggage at the hotel in Brussels so we left early and caught an IC departed 9:03. There were many trains to Brussels (maybe because it's in the morning) which was nice. The train arrived at Brussels Central at 9:45, 5 minutes late, and we headed Marriot near Grand Place. It was early but we were able to check-in. The clerk made sure if it was OK for us to use a twin room (although we're a couple), but I think it's larger than a double room and good...

ブルージュへ　to Brugge
中央駅から11時発のオステンド行きICに乗ったけど、ほぼ満席。。。なんか知らないけど徐行運転が続き、25分ほど遅れて12:25にブルージュに到着。駅前はすごく広くて、他の観光客について駅から中心部に歩いて行きました。
We took an IC to Oostende departed 11:00 but it was almost full already. And the train was running very slow which made 25minute-delay and we arrived at Brugges at 12:25. Outside the station was very open and we followed other tourists to the center of the city.

ブルージュ到着　Arrived at Brugge

15〜20分くらい歩くと、中世っぽい街並になってきて、アントワープより観光地として確立している感じがしました。でも歩きタバコ多いし、ラテン系学生の一行とはちあわせてしまい、うるさいやら歩きづらいやら。。。後で聞いたけど、ブルージュはオランダ語で「橋」で、北のベネチアとも呼ばれているらしいね。
After 15 to 20 minute walk, we were in the city of middle ages. It was cleaner than Antwerpen and was an established sightseeing place. But there were many tourists smoking and we also bumped into a group of Latin students...annoying... Later I found that Brugge meant "bridge" in Dutch and it was also called Northern Venice.

お昼　Lunch

すぐにカフェを見つけて、ランチ。え？これじゃデザートだって？笑　ワッフルとりんごのタルト。ここのワッフルは脂っこくなくておいしかった。
We soon found a nice cafe and had lunch. Well, people may call it desserts though! A belgian waffle and an apple tarte. The waffle was not too oily and I liked it a lot.

聖母教会　Our Lady Church

カフェの目の前には聖母教会(Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk)が。残念ながら、塔は改修中。真ん中の聖母子像は、ミケランジェロの作品とのこと。イタリア以外で見られるのは珍しいのだとか。ステンドグラスもすごくキレイでした。
There's Our Lady Church in front of the cafe, but the tower was under repair:-( The sculpture of the lady and the child was created by Michelangelo and it's not very common to see his work outside Italy. I was also attracted by the stained glasses.

思いのほか色々なところであじさいを見ました。この教会の裏庭みたいなところもすてきでした。
We saw many hydrangea at many places during the trip. The back garden of this church (maybe) was also beautiful.

マルクト広場　Markt

またしばらく歩くと、マルクト広場へ出ました。中央は世界遺産にもなっている鐘楼。右は州庁舎です。今回、市庁舎と聖血礼拝堂に寄っていなかったことを、この時は全く気づかず。見所がたくさんあるから忘れちゃうのよね。。。
Again we walked for a while and arrived at Markt. The central photo is Belfort, the world heritage. And the right is the House of Province. We missed City Hall and H.Bloed-Basiliek but we were completely forgotten at that time. There're too many places to remember to visit.

チョコレート博物館　Chocolate Museum

更に歩き進めると、街のはずれの方にチョコレート博物館があります。極めて新しいもので、インカやアステカでのチョコレートの歴史からヨーロッパに伝わるまでの歴史や、製作過程、オバマ大統領のチョコレート像やデモンストレーションキッチンなどがありました。時間になると、係の人がプラリネの作り方を説明してくれて、味見もできます。ちなみに6ユーロ。
We continued walking and found Chocolate Museum at almost the edge of the town. It's a new one and exhibits the history of chocolate (from Inca & Aztec to introduction to Europe) and its production process, chocolate statue of President Obama, and demonstration kitchen. Every 15 or 20 minutes, there's a demonstration of praline chocolate and we can taste it too. The entrance fee was 6 euros by the way.

ここでカールおじさんがサングラスをなくした！と大騒ぎに。。。話を聞いていると、カフェが怪しいので、カフェに戻ると案の定、床に落ちていました。まったく困ったおじさんだ。
Then Carl noticed that his sunglasses were gone and was at a petit panic. I guessed he had left them at the cafe, and we found them there.

鐘楼ふたたび。観光用の馬車がたくさん走っていました。落とし物に注意。
チョコレートラインというチョコ屋さんでお買い物。この日も暑く、チョコは最小限しか買えなかったのは残念。
Belfort again. There were many carriages running in the city. Watch out the stray droppings.
We shopped at Chocolate Line, the local chocolate shop but it was hot again on the day and we couldn't buy much chocolate.

帰路　Return

救世主教会を通り、緑の美しい公園を抜けて、駅に戻りました。
We passed St Salvatorskathedraal and the beautiful green park, and got back to the station.

ここもオランダ語圏。。。地名もフランス語とオランダ語とあったりするから、ややこしいったら。
The common language in that area is also Dutch... And it is very confusing because the names of the cities are a bit different in French and Dutch.

帰りの電車も、遠足だか修学旅行だかの子供たちで占領されていました。。。日本では貸切電車を走らせたり、貸切バスで行ったりすると思うのですが、、、こちらでは普通に普通の電車を使うんですね。。。しかも、やっぱり遅れた。
The train back to Brussels was full with school kids who seemed to be on their trip back to home. In Japan, there're reserved trains for school trips or they hire a bus...but here it seems they use ordinary trains. And the train was late again.

ブリュッセルで夕食　Dinner in Brussels

ブリュッセルのホテルに戻り、夕飯へ出かけました。ちょうどいいレストランを見つけるのに苦労したけど、結局以前私が行ったことのある所の隣で。。。この旅初のアルコール、せっかくだからカールおじさんはビールを注文。チェリーの甘いやつだけど。それから、季節ではないけどベルギー料理と言えばムール貝＆ポテトフライ。私はワーテルゾーイという、チーズ入りのホワイトシチューのようなもの。とってもおいしかったけど、二人がかりでも完食は困難でした。
We returned the hotel in Brussels, and then went out for dinner. It wasn't easy to find a nice restaurant but we ended up the next restaurant of the one I used before. Carl ordered a glass of beer (cherry one) and it was the first hard drink during the trip. And it wasn't really in season but we ordered Moules and Belgian Fries. I chose Waterzooi, white cream stew with cheese. They're really good but it was impossible to finish all of them.

ムール貝は、別の貝を使ってつまみ出すのね。

腹ごなしにお散歩。グランプラスはいつ見てもキレイです。今回夏で日が長かったため、夜景の写真が撮れなくて残念。セルクラス像。触ると福があるとかないとか、今回も触るの忘れた。
We were so full so we took a walk around. Grand Place was beautiful as always. I regret that it was summer and we couldn't take photos of the night view. The statue of Serclaes: it is said that it would bring good luck by touching him. But I forgot to do it again.

Day7 Antwerp 7日目 アントワープ

ベルギーは２回目。次回は絶対に行く！！と思っていたアントワープへ行きました。
お家からモンパルナスへ出て、狙ってた巨大マカロンとサンドウィッチを購入。
It was my second time in Belgium. I really wanted to visit Antwerp last time!! We first went to Montparnasse station and bought the big macarons and sandwiches at PAUL.

駅前のモンパルナスタワー。Montparnasse tower just in front of the station.

モンパルナス駅。近代的ですね。中はそうでもないけど。Gare Montparnasse. It looks modern outside but not that much inside.

メトロ4に乗って、パリ北駅へ向かいます。北駅はイギリス（ユーロスター）、オランダ、ベルギー（タリス）方面に行く電車が発着するので、国際的な感じです。今まで4回パリに来ましたが、毎回使ってます。駅舎もすばらしく、一番好きな駅ですが、今回は工事中なので写真はありません。。。
以前まで、パリの北だから北駅だと思っていたけど、じゃあなぜ東駅が北駅のすぐ近くにあるんだろう。。。と思っていたら、『北へ行く駅』『東に行く駅』という意味らしい。リヨン駅は、『リヨンに行く駅』なのね。
We took metro line 4 to Gare du Nord. Gare du Nord is the station for people heading UK (Eurostar), Netherlands and Belgium (Thalys) so it feels international. I have been to Paris for four times and I used this station every time. The station building is very beautiful but it was covered up for repair this time... still, it's my favorite station. I thought it's North Station for it stands north of Paris, but I wondered why Gare de l'Est, East station is right next to the North station then. It turned out to be "the station for going North" and "going East". So is Gare de Lyon.

チケットにスタンプを押す機械。改札がないけど、キセルが発覚するとすごい罰金取られるらしい。乗越し清算もできる日本の鉄道システムは素晴らしい！とよくフランス人が言っています。
We need to stamp on the ticket by ourselves. It was surprising for us that there is no check-in gate at these stations (in most of them in Europe). But when you're caught for illegal ride, they will charge you a lot! I heard many French people said it's amazing that there's fare adjustment system in Japan.

12:25発のタリスに乗り込み、早速ランチ。Our Thalys departed at 12:25. We had lunch as soon as we got on.

マカロン！お水のボトルと比べて、その大きさが分かるかと。食べ終わる前に飽きるほどでした。。The macarons! Compare with the bottle to see how large it was...I must confess that I could hardly finish it.

ブリュッセル南駅には13:45頃着、アントワープには14:30頃到着しました。
The train arrived at Bruxell Midi at 13:45 and at Antwerpen at 14:30.

大きく立派な駅でオドロキ。プラットホームもすごいたくさんあった。けど、、、一歩降りればココはオランダ語圏。。。カールおじさんも私もサッパリです。
It was a large station with so many platforms! But once we arrived there we found ourselves total strangers as people speak Dutch here!! We both know nothing of it.

外側もステキでしょ。最近補修工事が終わったとか。It is very beautiful outside, too. I heard they'd just finished repairing.

まずは駅の近くにあるホテルに行って荷物を置き、迷いながら徒歩でルーベンスの家に。We dropped our baggage at a hotel near the station and looked for Rubens' House on foot.

高級ブランド店が並ぶ通りの脇に、ルーベンスの家がありました。彼は生前からお金持ちだったようですね〜かなり立派なお家で、中には彼や彼の時代の作品が展示してありました。館内は撮影禁止だから、お外だけ。
Rubens house was on a side road of the street of top-brand shops. It seems he was very rich. It was a big house! His paintings and sculptures and some of the others were exhibited in the house so photos are not allowed. The gate was closed at 16:00, an hour before its closure. We wanted to visit the cathedral after this so we took a quick look at the inside (6 euros).

17時閉館だけど、入場は16時までで、この後大本命の教会にも行くので、駆け足で見ました。入館料は６ユーロ。ところで、こちらの人はフランス人と比べ、英語を話すことに抵抗がないように思えました。フランスではいきなり英語で話すと嫌〜な顔されるし。。。

歩いて10分くらいで教会に到着！フランス語で言うところのノートルダム（聖母）教会。片っぽの塔は資金不足で完成しなかったとか。でもこれはこれでユニークでいいね。
About 10 minutes walk, we arrived at the cathedral of Our Lady. I learned that one of the towers could not be finished for financial reasons. But it has made the cathedral unique:-)

そうです。。。ここは『フランダースの犬』でネロとパトラッシュが最期を迎えた場所。。。ちょうどTokyo MXテレビで再放送をしていて、ここへ来るのを楽しみにしていました。ていうか、フランダースの犬はこちらでは知名度が低く（カールおじさんも知らなかった）、それ目当てで来る日本人のために日本語の案内やらお土産やら色々ありました（笑）
This is the place where Nello and his dog Patrasche passed away in the story "A Dog of Flanders". The story became an anime and widely known in Japan although people here rarely know (Carl didn't know either). There were many introductions and souvenirs for Japanese tourists here.

ネロも、ルーベンスの三連祭壇画を見に来たのよね。中央には聖母被昇天、左右にキリスト昇架と降架がありました。なんか特別展でオランダ絵画がいっぱい展示されていて、ガイドには2ユーロって書いてあった入場料が5ユーロだった。。。
天井に金色の星がちりばめられているのが美しかったです。ここだけでも、アントワープに来たかいがあった！
Nello came to see the triptychs by Rubens, too. There were The Rising of the Cross and The Decent from the Cross on both sides and Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the center. There were also many Dutch paintings in the cathedral which seemed to be a special exhibition and we required 5 euros each although it was written 2 euros each in my guidebook.
The ceiling (domes) were decorated with golden stars which was very beautiful. I thought it was worth visiting Antwerp only for this cathedral.

フランダースの・・・犬？笑

歩いてすぐ、マルクト広場に出ます。市役所の前にはちょっとユニークな噴水も。結構暑かったので、ここでティータイム。
Just a few minutes from the cathedral, there's Grote Markt. The fountain in front of the city hall was interesting. It was a hot day so we had a tea break here.

牛乳市場という名の通り。ネロとおじいさんが牛乳を売りに来ていたところ、だな。The name of the street, "Milk Market". Nello (and his grandpa) came here to sell their milk in the story.

更に川の方へ歩いて行くと。。。And we continued walking to the river side...

スケルド川。大きな川でした。古いお城、ステーン城は海洋博物館になっているそうだけど今は閉館中らしい。
Schelde River. It was very large. And an old castle called Steen. The castle was a marine museum but it was closed for a while.

そろそろ遅くなって来たので、お店が閉まる前に繁華街の方に戻りました。
Then we headed back to the center of the city to do some shopping (before they're closed).

そうそう、教会のほど近くにルーベンスの像があるのですが、イベント？なのか屋台みたいなものが周りを囲んでいて、近くで観られず。。。
There's a statue of Rubens near the cathedral but there was a kind of temporal market down there so we couldn't take a close look at him!!

メインストリートにはいろんなお店（それこそZaraとかH＆Mみたいな）が並んでいますが、渋谷みたいに汚くてガッカリでした。
The main street was filled with various stores but the street wasn't really clean which disappointed me.

道におもむろにでっかい手のオブジェが。カールおじさん曰く、アントワープはオランダ語で捨てられた手という意味で、さっきの川に住んでいたという巨人が市民を困らせていたため、誰かが巨人の手を切ってこらしめたという伝説から来ているらしい。だからか？
We found an object of big hand on the street. Carl told me that Antwerpen meant a thrown hand in Dutch and it was named after a legend about a giant who lived in the river and annoyed the people so someone cut down his hand. So is it the giant's?

夕飯のために入ったブラッスリーはガラガラだったのに、すごく待たされた上、料理に虫が入っていて、食べずに出ました。。。ウェイトレスさんはいい人だったけど、ラテン系の上司？は携帯で私用電話してるわ、客席でタバコ吸ってるわ・・・最初は店員だと思わなかった。
結局夜マックになりました。。。
We found a brasserie for dinner but even though there were very few customers, we had to wait so long and there was a bug in the dish! So we went out without eating. The waitress was nice but her Latin boss who kept talking on his cell phone and smoking at a table was terrible.
We ended up McDonald's....

Day6 SOLDES! 6日目 セール初日！

この日はセール（Soldes）の初日。というわけで、mamanの車で大型ショッピングセンターへ！
It was the first day of the sales in France! So we went to a big shopping mall by maman's car.

パリ郊外にあるParly 2（パリドゥ）というショッピングセンター。聞くところによると、『第２のパリ』ということでParis 2としたかったけど、さすがに許可が下りず、Parly 2という名前になったとか。
The mall Parly 2 locates in the suburb Paris. I heard that they wanted to name it "Paris 2" meaning "the second Paris", but it wasn't permitted so they named Parley 2 instead.

パン屋さんのPaul。キッチンが見られます。バゲット焼いてる！！
The bakery Paul. We can see the kitchen. He's baking baguette!

先日も書いた、fnac（フナック）もありました。カールおじさんのお目当ては・・・マンガ（フランス語版）。書棚は「Seinen」「Shonen」「Shojo」に分けられていましたが、『乙男 オトメン』が少年の棚にあったのが謎。ていうか、フランスでもオトメン流行るのか！？中年の女性もコナンを買ってたりして、思った以上の人気ぶりに驚き。私が子どもの頃に見たアニメも、カールおじさんもたいてい見てる
There was also fnac. Carl was looking for some mangas (french version). The shelves were categolized into Seinen (adult men), Shonen (boys) and Shojo (girls). But Otomen which is Shojo manga was in the Shonen shelf.... I wonder if French people like Otomen, too. I saw a mid-aged woman buy Detective Conan. Manga is popular among French people a lot more than I expected! For animes, too, Carl knows what I watched when I was a kid.

プランタンも入ってます。ということで、服を購入。特にカールおじさんのトップスのサイズ、日本では選択肢が少ないので。通常のタグの上に、赤、黄色などの色紙がついていて、それによって50%オフ、40%オフ･･･と決まっているのですが、お会計の時には、レジの人がその色紙によって手作業で値引きしてたみたい。。。間違えないでね～～～。カールおじさんはTシャツ2枚、私もTシャツ、キャミソールなどなど買いました。
We bought some clothes at Printemps, too. Since Japanese clothes are smaller than European, there aren't much choice of clothes for Carl in Japan so it would be nice to find some here! Color tags such as red and yellow were on the price tags and they represent how much it would be discounted (50%, 40% etc..) I hope they calculated properly as they did the discount manually at the casher... Carl got two T-shirts, and I got a T-Shirt and some sleevelesses.

カールおじさんの買った、ムッシュ・プレ（Mr.チキンの意味）のTシャツが私のお気に入り。Monsieur Coq（Mr.ニワトリ）じゃなくて、主に肉を意味するプレなところ、しかものんきにジュースなんか飲んでるところがツボ。
I'm really fond of one of his T-Shirt called Monsieur Poulet (=Mr. Chicken). It is funny that it's not Mr.Cock or Rooster but Chicken which mainly stands for the meat.

その後、パリに出て、カールおじさんの一番上のイトコに会いました。第1印象は、『デスパレートな妻たち』のスーザン（テリ・ハッチャー）に似てる～だったんだけど、後で聞いたら、Mamanもドラマを見て、同じことを思ったらしく、フランス人の顔を見慣れてる人もそう思うんだ～となんか安心した。
We went to Paris to see Carl's eldest cousin in the afternoon. The first impression was, she looks like Susan in Desperate Housewives and it made me smile when maman said she thought the same:-) I was afraid that my impression might be wrong since I am not really used to French faces.

モンパルナス駅のPaulで、でっかいマカロン発見。I found biggest macarons at Paul in Montparnasse station.

夜はお天気もよかったので、お庭でご飯。Dinner in the garden as the weather was beautiful.

Day5 Saint Malo 5日目 サンマロ

朝食はホテル指定のレストランで。窓一面の海で、朝日がまぶしかった！！ちなみに今回泊まったホテルは、Les Terrasse Poulardと言って、あのオムレツレストランの系列でした。なかなか良いホテルでした。
The breakfast at the restaurant of the hotel. There was a large glass window (wall?) on the ocean side and the sun was so bright in the morning. By the way, we stayed at Les Terrasse Poulard (yes, the same Poulard of the omelette!) and it was a nice hotel:-)

本日の目的地はブルターニュ地方サンマロ。モンサンミシェルはノルマンディの端っこなので、ちょっと行けばブルターニュです。しかし、昨日使ったポントルソン駅は本当に電車が少なく、9時の次は14時みたいな具合だったので、バスで向かうことにしました。
The destination of this day was Saint Malo in Bretagne. Mont Saint Michel stands on the edge of Normandie so it isn't that far. We could gone by train but there were not so many trains stop at Pontorson (it was like 9:00 and then 14:00...) so we went there by bus.

朝、潮が満ちてきていて、バス停ギリギリまで来てました。で、このトラック登場。通行車両のために、砂を水でどけているらしい。It was high tide in the morning and the seawater was close to the bus stop. So the truck swept away the sand which had been brought by the tide for cars and busses.

まずは昨日と同じManeoバスでポントルソン駅まで。今日の運転手さんは偏屈じいさんだった。。。行き先を尋ねる乗客に、『バスに書いてあるだろ！』てな感じなんだけど、機知に富んだことを言っていたらしい（カールおじさん訳）。9:17発で、駅には9:40ごろ着。9:55発のサンマロ行きバス（今度はIrisというバスだった）に乗り換え。およそ1時間20分かかるけど、3ユーロはお得かも？
First of all, we went to Pontorson station by the same Maneo bus. The driver this time was also funny. Everytime a passenger asked him where the bus was for, he replied "Can't you read the sign in front of the bus?" and according to Carl, he was very talkative and witty. The bus left at 9:17 and arrived at the station around 9:40, then we changed the bus for Saint Malo left at 9:55 (this time it was Iris bus). It took about 1 h20min but 3 euros was a kind of cheap.

景色もブルターニュっぽくなってきました！The view from the bus window...very much like Bretagne!

11:15分ごろ、サンマロに到着。電車の予約の必要があったので、私たちは終点の駅まで行った。今回の旅でよかったことは、でっかいスーツケースは実家に置いて、小さい荷物で移動できたこと。しかし、一泊とは言え、それなりの荷物はあるわけで、なんとなく予想はしてたけど、駅にロッカーはない（安全のため）。だから1日持ち歩くハメになり、大変だった（カールおじさんが）。
The bus arrived at Saint Malo at 11:15. Since we needed to make some train reservation, we went to the railway station. What was nice for us was that we were able to leave suitcases at home and travel with less baggage. Still our baggage for one night was not that light, and as I had expectd, there was no lockers at the station and we had to bring them all day... it was hard for Carl:-p

駅から観光地までは徒歩で20～30分かかりました。。。海も近いし、こちらへ来て初めて「暑い」と感じた日でした。。。It took 20-30 minutes on foot from the station to the old city. I felt "hot" for the first time since we arrived in France.

港町って感じ。It's a port town.

城壁に囲まれています。The old city is surrounded by walls.

サンヴァンサン門から中に入ります。We entered the city from the porte St Vincent.

サンヴァンサン教会。以前ドイツの中世の建物にもあったけど、怪物の装飾があるのが面白い。ちなみに、内部のステンドグラスもすばらしかったです。
Saint Vincent Cathedral. It has decorations of monsters on the wall and I remember I have seen similar stuff in Germany before. The stained glasses were beautiful too!

通りにはおみやげ屋さんから、ファッションのお店まで、色々ひしめいていました。この街も、戦争で8割がた崩壊したけど、そこから見事に復興。言われなければ分からないほどです。
There were many souvenir shops and fashion shops on the streets. The 80% of the city was destroyed during the war but they rebuilt it. I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't told so.

と、ここでお昼。ぶらぶらしてて見つけた、海を臨むオープンカフェのあるクレープ屋さん（クレペリエ）で、きのこのガレットと、レモンと砂糖のクレープをいただきました。ガレット・クレープはブルターニュが有名。おいしかった～海ですから、カモメが飛びまくってます。要注意。
Then, we found a nice creperie where we can enjoy the view of the ocean so we had lunch there. We had a galette with mushrooms and a crepe with lemon and sugar. Yum yum... But we have to pay attention to the seaguls!!

サンマロは義弟のお勧めだったのですが、昔は王様公認の海賊、コルセイル（Corsaire）の拠点としても有名らしい。公認というのも、イギリスやらスペインやら他国の船を襲っていい、というらしい。。。はは。中央はきっと有名な海賊。海水浴を楽しむ人も多かったです。
また、カナダを「発見」したジャック・カルティエの出身地でもあるらしいです。
Saint Malo was recommended by my brother-in-law. There used to be a base of pirates called corsaire who were allowed to attack British or Spanish ships by the king. I think the central picture is a statue of one of the pirates. There were many people who enjoyed swimming.
Also, Jacques Cartier who "discovered" Canada was from this town.

一通り、街をぶらついて、お土産も買って、門の辺りに戻ってきました。これはお役所（Hotel de Ville)。
We walked around the town and bought some souvenirs, then returned the gate. This is the city hall.

また駅まで歩いて、4時ごろ到着。私にとっては初めてのTGV！！
We walked back to the station and arrived around 16:00. It was my first ride of TGV!

レンヌを経由して、パリモンパルナス駅まで3時間ちょっとくらい。Through Rennes, it took a little more than three hours to Paris Montparnasse.

サンマロのお菓子屋さんで買ったマカロン。歩いてるうちに崩れてしまいましたが。。。
Macarons we bought in St Malo. They were broken while we were walking around though...

おみやげ。ブルターニュはシードルも有名なので、シードル用のボウルもたくさん売ってる。これは側面に名前が入っていて、なんとも珍しいことに、私の名前とカールおじさんの名前両方あったので、思わず購入。私たちの名前のスペルはちょっと珍しいので、なかなかないのです。（エリカはフランスではEricaというスペルらしい）。
mamanが好きなla belle iloise（ラベルイロワーズ）の魚の缶詰も購入。
Souvenirs. Cidre is also the specialty of Bretagne, and various cidre bowls are sold there. This bowl has a name on the side and we found bowls with our names! It is very rare since our spellings are not so common here (They spell Erica in France it seems).
And we also bought canned sardines of la belle iloise which is maman's favorite.

Day4 Mont Saint Michel 4日目 モンサンミシェル

せっかくフランス行くんだから、ずっと行きたかったここへ･･･。
I really wanted to go there for long!!

この日、サルコジさんは昨日私たちがいたヴェルサイユに行ったらしい。大統領がヴェルサイユ入りするのは意外にも何十年ぶりだったとか。I heard that Sarko was in Versailles where we were the day before. And it was a kind of surprising that the last time French President visited Versailles was decades ago.

その混雑を避けつつ、通勤途中のパパにでパリ（シャンゼリゼ）まで送ってもらい、凱旋門やラデュレなどを横目に、メトロでサンラザール駅へ。Avoiding that mess, papa, who was on his way to work, sent us to Paris Champs Elysees. Enjoying the Arc de triomphes, LA DUREE etc... we headed to St Lazare station by metro.

ちなみに、駅前のFnac（フナック：書籍や電化製品を売るヨドバシ的なお店。フレンチオタクの聖地？）で新しいデジカメを購入。悩んだ挙句、Lumixにしました。郊外ではフランスの人の親切心にいっぱい触れられて、超印象が良かったのに、やっぱパリの店員さんは･･･な感じで、他のお客さんもキレてました。
By the way, we dropped by fnac near the station to buy a new digital camera. I hesitated between sony and panasonic but I chose Lumix in the end. Although I saw a loooot of kind people in suburb and my impression on French people (except for families and friends) got better, the shop assdistant there in Paris was not helpful afterall and other customers were furious too.

12:10 St Lazare サンラザール出発
日本のガイドブックでは、パリ・モンパルナスからレンヌへTGVで行き、そこからバスで1時間半という行き方をお勧めされていますが、ユーレイルパスもあるし、バスより電車が好きだから、カールおじさんに頼んで別ルートで行きました。Most of Japanese guidebooks suggest that tourists take TGV from Montparnasse to Rennes, and then get on a bus for 1h30. But we had Eurail Pass and I prefer trains to buses, so I asked Carl to find another way.

というわけで、サンラザールからTGVの次の特急というCorail Intercites（コライユインターシテ）シェルブール行きに乗ってノルマンディー地方のCaen（カン）を目指しました。
So we took Corail Intercites (the second fastest express) for Cherbourg and got off at Caen in Normandie.

席の横にコンセントがあったので、デジカメのバッテリーを充電！Lucky! I charged the battery of my new camera.

13:57 arrived at Caen and changed 14:13 for Renne カンに到着、レンヌ行き電車に乗り換え

カンの駅はなかなかキレイでした。ここも戦争の被害が大きかったところで、ノルマンディー上陸作戦跡もあるらしい。二次大戦に関しては、自国のことに終始してしまい、ヨーロッパでどんなことがあったのかよく知らないので、今度ちゃんと勉強しようと思います。また、イギリス征服で有名なウィリアム征服王のお城もある（英語にフランス語の影響があるのはこの人のせいと言って過言でない）。
The station of Caen was new and clean. Caen had tough time during the second World War and there were many memorial places for Normandy Landings. It is a shame that I am quite ignorant about what happened in Europe at that time since hisotory classes usually focus on what happened in our country. I will study more about it later. There is also a castle of William the Conqueror who is famous for Norman Conquest.

牛と草原を眺めながら、しばらくするとモンサンミシェルがうっすら見えてきた！前に座ってたおじさんと軽く興奮しながら、Pontorson（ポントルソン）という駅で降りました。Watching cows and fields from the window, later we captured a shape of Mont Saint Michel!! We got a bit excited with the man sitting in front of us, and we got off at Pontorson.

16:15 Pontorson Mont-Saint-Michel got on the bus left 16:35　ポントルソン・モンサンミシェル着、バスに乗り換え

ポントルソン・モンサンミシェル駅は驚くほど人気のない駅でした。。。ローカル電車の本数もめちゃめちゃ少ない･･･最初はタクシーで行くつもりだったけど、バス以外の車はなく、呼ぶのも厳しそうだったので、一緒に電車を降りた10名そこそこの旅行者とともに20分後のManeoバスに乗車。一人２ユーロで、運転手さんに直接渡して、レシートみたいな乗車券をもらう。この運ちゃん、かなりふくよかで、私が一番前の席だったから、なんだか不安になってブレーキの位置を確認してしまった
Pontorson Mont-Saint-Michel was a VERY small station and there are very few trains stop here... I couldn't find anyone except for a dozen passengers just got off the train with us and a bus driver. At first we planned to take a taxi but there's only a bus waiting in front of the station and we thought it must be faster to get on the bus which left in 20 minutes. It we handed the driver 4 euros (2 per person) and he returned a ticket like a receipt. The driver was so fat that made me check the location of the brake just in case (since I was in the front row).

16:58 Mont Saint Michel モンサンミシェル着
今回、島内のホテルを予約したので、まずはチェックイン。可愛らしいホテルでした。オーシャンビューも素晴らしかったし。ネットで予約したけど、『地球の歩き方』の読者割引があったので、朝食別だったので、5%分を朝食代から引いてもらうことになりました。
We booked a hotel inside the island online and we checked in first. It was a pretty hotel and we were able to enjoy the ocean view from our room window. My Japanese guidebook wrote they could give 5% discount for the readers but since we already paid by creditcard, they offered us breakfast with the discount.

教会の入場はたしか18時までだったので、ちょっと急いで行ったのだけど、私は忘れていた･･･モンサンミシェルのモンは「山」。。。登りに弱い私は、階段途中で息が切れた。。。なんとかチケット売り場まで辿り着き、時間内に入場できた。ハイシーズンだけど、時間的にそんなに人がいなくて、よかった。
I think the gate closes at 6 pm and we hurried to the cathedral. However...I completely fogot that Mont means mountain... I am really bad at climbing and I was breathless in the middle of the stairs. We reached the ticket counter somehow and entered before it was closed. Late June is already a high season for tourists but as it is almost in the evening, there were not so many people which was good.

夕方は引き潮なのかな？足跡がいっぱい。なにやら砂に書かれたメッセージも・・・。It was low tide in the evening? So many footprints and a message on the sand too.

このコケは上のお庭から染み出た水分によるものだ、近くのツアコンが話していたのをカールおじさんから又聞き。The moss was caused by the water from the garden on the upper floor (according to Carl who overheard a tour guide explained to the group).

一時期牢獄としても使われていたとのことで、しかもそのご遺体がどっかに埋められていると、カールおじさんが言っていたので、なんとなくその辺りの写真は遠慮しました。There was a time when it was used as a prison and Carl said those prisoners were buried somewhere inside so I refrained from taking pictures around that area.

1時間したかしないかでまわりきってしまった。Grand Rue（参道）に出ました。コチラの人々は夕飯が遅いような気がしたので、混む前に狙いのレストランへ！We finished the tour about an hour and were back to Grand Rue. I thought people here had dinner later than we have in Japan so we headed to the restraunt we were interested right away.

La Mere Pourald

予感的中！レストランにはまだ日本人カップル1組だけで、その後もアジア系の人々が来て、最後に欧州系の人々が。出る頃には満席になってました
Bingo! When we entered the restaurant, there were only a Japanese couple and some more Asian people came later and then European people. When we finished the meal, it was full.

レストラン　ラメールプラールはオムレツで有名。オムレツ専門要員オムレティエなる人がいて、音楽を奏でるように卵を混ぜています。Restaurant La Mere Poulard is famous for its omelette. There is an "omelettier" who makes only omelettes! The sound of his beating eggs was like a music.

ベジタリアンコースをオーダーしました（一人36ユーロくらい）。
We both ordered Vegetarien Menu (about 36 euros each).

前菜はトマトスープ。これは美味でした～～！メインは野菜とオムレツ。その巨大オムレツぶりに驚きました。。半分はカールおじさんに食べてもらった。かなりあわ立ててあるので、ほわほわです。デザートはクレームブリュレ（また卵かい！！）これも予想に反して大きかったので、半分カールおじさんのお腹に･･･。
Entree was tomato soup, which was really delicious! The plat was omelette with vegetables. We were stunned by the size.... I finished half and Carl ate the rest of mine, too. The egg was well foamed very soft. The dessert was creme brulee (eggs, again!) and it was also unexpectedly large, so Carl finished 1 and half...:p

とても美味しかったし、『欧州列車の旅』的な番組で見て絶対行きたいと思ってたので、満足でした。が、窓の近くの席で、ハエが半端なく飛んできて、それだけは不快でしたが。。。
C'etait tres bon and I really wanted to try omelette there since I watched it on TV. I was so satisfied but one thing not very fun was our table was near the open window and there were so many flies!!

3階がバー＆おみやげ屋さんになっているのだけど、そこのお姉さんが、モンサンミシェルは石川県のどっかと関係があるとか言ってた。姉妹都市？？There are a bar and a shop on the third floor and the girl there told us that Mont Saint Michel had some relationship between Ishikawa Pref. in Japan. Sister cities, maybe?

腹ごなしにちょっとお散歩。上から見るGrand Rue。We took a walk for our full stomach...Grand Rue from above.

寝る支度が済んだ頃、ちょっと外に出ると、やっと夜景になってた。When we were ready to sleep, we sneaked out and it was finally dark!

Day 3 Marche and Versailles 3日目 マルシェとヴェルサイユ

マルシェ（朝市）は日曜と木曜らしい。というわけで、Mamanについて行ってみた。食料品から衣料品、おもちゃやベッドまで、色々売ってた。mamanは主に野菜やお肉をここで買うらしいけど、その中でも行きつけは決まっているみたい。私が日本から来たと知ると、味見させてくれたり、おまけしてくれたり、とっても親切だった。

We went to a marche in the morning with maman. The market opens on Sundays and Thursdays. There were many shops that sell foods, clothes, toys and even beds!! Maman said she usually bought meats and vegetables here and she was a good customer at several shops. A lady at one shop gave me some candies for free because I came from Japan:-) It's very kind of her.

そうそう、あられせんべいらしきものが売ってたの！Asian biscuitsとか書いてあったと思う。

きゅうりデカっっ。Cucumbers are bigger here!

午後はでベルサイユ観光へ！We went to Versailles in the afternoon.

お庭の横のゲートから入場。We entered from the side gate of the garden.

彼方に宮殿が見えます。You can see the castle in the far end...

この辺りは入場無料。ボートも乗れるのね。It is free entry in this area. You can enjoy the boat as well.

夏場の週末と祝日は午後3時半～5時半くらいまで噴水ショーがあるとのことで。There is a fountain show on weekends and holidays in summer.

この噴水ショーと同時に私のサイバーショットのソニータイマーが稼動。。。撮影モードにすると振動して撮影困難に。。。Just as the show started, the Sony Timer of my cybershot executed. It started to shake when I try to take a picture.

Mamanの案内で、噴水めぐり。まるで迷路のような庭ですが、ひたすらついていきました。We followed maman the guide in the garden like a maze to find fountains.

美しいお庭。写真を撮ろうとした日本人観光客がここから落ちて亡くなった、という話をカールおじさんは何度もします。。。The beautiful garden! Carl tells me the story again and again that a Japanese tourist who was trying to take a picture fell from here and died.

この電気自動車を借りることも可能らしい。You can rent this electric car.

中央：いくつかの噴水ではピンク色の水が。しぶきがちょっと怖かった。Center: Some fountains were colored in pink. I was afraid of the splash:-p

園内にはステージがあり、時々コンサートなんかがあるらしいです。There is a stage in the park and some conserts are held here.

終わりの時間になると、フィナーレで宮殿脇の大きな噴水でお水がふきだします。おそらく中央にはネプチューンの像。The finale at the big fountain near the castle. I think there is a statue of Neptune in the center.

見事な噴水でした。でもこんなにたくさん作らなくても･･･という気もしますねWonderful fountains! But I wonder if it was necessary to create this many fountains...

前回（5年前！）見た後、鏡の間の改修が終わったとか聞いたので、見に行くつもりでいたのですが、気付けば閉館時間・・・。でも、Mamanが「前にも来て、もう一度見たいの！日本から来たのよ！」と交渉してくれて、とっても親切なことに、入れてくれました（まだお客さんは中にいる時間だったけど）。
Last time I was here it was five years ago (!!) and I heard the Gallery of Glass finished reparing and I wanted to see it. But the gate was closed when we arrived at the castle... Then maman negotiated with the staff telling I came here before and I was from Japan etc.. then the kind staff let us (Carl and I) in!! So we enjoyed the Gallery of Glass quickly;-)

なにが改修されたのか良くわからなかったけど。。。Well...I couldn't see any difference though!

また、以前お城の前にルイ14世像があって、一緒に写真を撮ったのだけど、その像ももっと前に移動されてた・・・結構最近のことらしく、まだ下の方はカバーがかかってた。There used to be a statue of Louis XIV in front of the castle and I remember I took a picture with him. The statue was moved forward recently and the foot of it was still covered.

帰り道、結婚式に来て下さった親戚のお家に寄りました。とってもすてきなお庭に色んな植物を育てていて、日本で買った大根の種も蒔いて、なかなか立派な大根ができてました！ On the way home, we stopped by the house of our relative who all the way came to our wedding in Japan. They have a pretty garden and there were white raddishes whose seeds they bought in Japan.

Day 2 Party & Walk 二日目 パーティーと散歩

交通量の多い道路の近くで育った私としては、静かすぎて落ち着かないほど。。。窓からは緑がいっぱい見えるし、こんなところで育ったら、おおらかな人間になれたかもしれません。。。
I grew up in a house which is close to a busy moterway, so Carl's parents' resident was too quite for me! Looking out from the window, there were a lot of green. If I were raised here, I could have been a more generous person.

たしかにハイパーだった　Oui, c'etait hyper...

午前にはmamanのお買い物に同行。近所の『Hypermarcheイペルマルシェ』へ。。スーパーじゃないんだ。。。In the morning we followed maman going shopping. The Hypermarche in the town...well, it's not "super"...

チーズだけで2列くらい。。。An alley full of only Cheeses!!

パン類（あ、マカロンも！）でも、パンは基本的にブランジュリーで買うらしい。さすが、パンにはこだわりが。ちなみに、バゲットだけじゃなく、クロワッサンも食べたけど、日本のに比べてあっさりして食べやすい気がした。バター使いすぎなのかしら。
Breads (and macarons!!). But French people are usually very keen on bread and Carl's family also buys bread at a boulangerie. By the way, not only baguette, I also had some croissants but I don't like the one in Japan as it is usually too oily (a lot of butter?).

お水も豊富！味付きもたくさんあった。コントレックスもベリーとか桃の香りがついてて面白かった。
Various bottles of water! Various flavors, too. It was interesting to try berries or peach flavors of Contrex.

スーパーのレジには（アメリカでもそうだったけど）ベルトコンベア、そしてレジの人は座ってる。。。
There was a conveyor belt (same as in the US) at the casher and the clerk was sitting (they are usually standing in Japan).

パリ市内の小さいスーパー（Shoppiとか、Carrefour Expressとか）には行ったことあったけど、ハイパーはまじででかかった。。。

誕生日パーティー　Birthday Party

誕生日会に同席できるのは、滅多にない機会。ナイスタイミングでした。
It was lucky to be able to join in the birthday party!

中央はメレンゲとフルーツのパイですが、左はTête de nègre（黒人の頭）というかなり差別的な、そして食欲減退しそうな名前で呼ばれています。名前は適切なものに変えられたようなのだけど、定着してないみたい。。あと、誕生日限定の特別なフォアグラを、兄弟で争っていたのが印象的（笑）。

The central photo is a pie with fruit and melingue, the left is called Tête de nègre(Head of black) which sounds very politically incorrect... The name seemed to be changed to an appropriate one, but it doesn't seem to be popular. Also, it was remarkable (very French!) that the brothers and sisters fought for the special foie gras which is served only on birthdays lol.

近くの街をお散歩　Walking around the neighbor town,

車で近くの街へ行って、お散歩。そこは古い街で、まるでおとぎ話の世界に入り込んだかのような、かわいい家が広がっていた。また、ポピーの花（Coquelicotコクリコと呼ぶらしい）もキレイに咲いていました。この赤はフランス国旗の赤なんだって！
We drove to the neighbor town to take a walk. It was an old town with lots of historical buildings and pretty houses which brings you to the world of fairy tale... And the poppy flowers were in season. This red color is a color of the French flag.

こちらは近所の公園。昔はお城があったらしい。This is a pond in the park nearby. There used to be a castle there.

Day 1 To France 1日目 フランスへ

未だに時差ぼけにやられています、、、もう若くないな。。。I'm still jet-lagged... I know I'm not that young anymore..

最初はロンドンに行きたくて、BAを使おうと思ったけど、検討の結果難しくなったので、エールフランス直行便を使うことにしました。正式にエールフランス使うのは初めてちょっと笑っちゃったのが、機内食に必ずチーズがついてること！！さすが！！We planned to stop over at London by using BA but we concluded that it was difficult, so we chose a direct flight to Paris by Air France. It was my first time to use AF (except for the code-sharing flight)! And what was interesting was they serve cheese at every meal! lol (and baguette too)

映画は3本くらい見たかな。。。『そんな彼なら捨てちゃえば？』『愛を読む人』『ベンジャミンバトンの数奇な人生』
『そんな彼なら～』の原題はHe's Just Not That Into You（彼はそんなにあなたに夢中じゃないだけ）ですが、フランス語ではCe Que Pensent les Hommes（男たちが考えていること）となっていて、タイトルが言語によって違うのがおもしろいな～と思った（でも映画の内容は、あまり共感できなかったです）。I watched three films...He's Just Not That Into You, The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was interesting that the title of "He's Not Just..." is translated in a different way according to the language. In Japanese, it is "Why don't you dump him if he's such a man". But I must say that the story wasn't that fun.

空港にはPapaが迎えに来てくれたのですが、渋滞にハマり、通常1時間程度で行けるところを、2時間以上かかってしまいました。。。でも、現地はサマータイムのおかげもあり、夜10時でも昼間のように明るいので、遅くなった感じはしませんでした。Papa picked us up at the airport but we were stuck in a traffic jam and it took more than two hours to get home (it is about an hour usually). But it was quite bright outside at 10:00pm (thanks to the daylight saving time, also) I didn't feel it was late.

パリ市内から数十分走ると、こんな風景が･･･（ちなみに夜8時過ぎてます）。Just half-an-hour drive from Paris and we were surrounded by the endless field (over 8:00pm by the way).

カールおじさんの実家は初めてです。可愛らしい住宅街にすっかり魅了されました。久々に家族勢ぞろいで夕飯。It was my first visit to Carl's home. It stands in a beautiful residential area. At the family dinner...

やっぱりチーズがいっぱい（笑）Cheeses!

BACK HOME!

先ほど家に帰りました〜。怒濤の二週間弱。。。どっと疲れが押し寄せて来た。。。
We just got home! It was hard two weeks...now I am so tired...

超過密スケジュールだったけど、たくさんの人に会って、いろんなものを見て、ほんとーに楽しかった。パリは4回目だけど、旅行というよりホームステイで、いろんな発見があったので、忘れないうちに書いて行きたいと思います。
The schedule was very tight but we saw many people and various places so I am quite happy now. It was my fourth time to visit Paris but it was rather a home stay than a trip. I experienced French life that I had ever had in my previous trips. I will write about them before I forget!

ちなみに以下のようなスケジュールでした What we did：

１日目：成田出発→夕方パリ着　カールおじさん実家へ。
First day: Left Japan, arrived in Paris in the evening and stayed Carl's parents'.
２日目：近所のスーパーで買い物、お誕生会、近所をお散歩
Second day: Shopping at a supermarket, birthday party and hanging around
３日目：マルシェで買い物、ヴェルサイユ庭園散策
Third day: Shopping at Marche, walking around the garden of Versailles
４日目：モンサンミッシェル（ノルマンディ）
Fourth day: Mont Saint Michel (Normandy)
５日目：サン・マロ（ブルターニュ）→帰宅
Fifth day: Saint-Malo (Bretagne) and coming home
６日目：セール初日。パリでカールおじさんのいとこに会う
Sixth day: First day of Solde, seeing Carl's cousin in Paris
７日目：アントワープ（ベルギー）
Seventh day: Antwerpen (Belgium)
８日目：ブルージュ（ベルギー）
Eighth day: Brugge (Belgium)

今回は帰省兼新婚旅行ということで、かなり詰め込んでしまいましたが、次回行く時は余裕のあるプランにしたいです。しかし、長かったこともあり、別れはつらかった。。。。。
This trip was not also visiting Carl's family but our honeymoon as well. So I think we put too much things into the plan. Next time I would like to have more free time to be a bit lazy. And as we spent much time with family, it was so difficult to leave.......:(

夜のY150開国博

夜18時からは入場券が半額（¥1200）なので、行って来ました。あいにくの雨と、平日夜ということで、すごく空いてた。。。（でも市民としては、空いてるのも心配）。

We went to the Yokohama Expo of 150th anniversary in the evening as the ticket is half the price after 6 p.m. It was a weekday night and raining, so there were few people (which rather made me worry as a citizen of Yokohama...).

赤レンガ倉庫周辺のベイサイドエリアには、有料の「トゥモローパーク」と「はじまりの森」があります。まずは「トゥモローパーク」に入場。
The area around Akarenga (red-brick storage houses) is called Bayside Area and there are "Tomorrow Park" and "Hajimari no Mori" where the tickets are required. We entered Tomorrow Park.

未来シアターでアニメ「BATON」を鑑賞（もち、待ち時間ゼロ）。エピソードが３つに分かれていて、順次公開されるみたい。ムーミン等をこよなく愛する私としては、この手のアニメはそんなに興味がないのですが、実写で撮ってアニメにするっていう手法とのことで、おもしろいなーと思いました。
First, we went to Mirai theater to see an animation film BATON. I learned that there will be two more episodes that will be released later. I am not a big fan of these animation but they use a latest technique which they shot scenes with actors and recreate them to an animation and was interesting.

お隣のでっかい風船には、環境保護に関する啓蒙的な映像が投影されます。とってもキレイでした。
The big balloon next to it was a screen to which a movie to promote environmental protection is projected. It was very beautiful and impressive.

道路をはさんでお向かいの「はじまりの森」に移動。まずは横浜開港の歴史について説明されている「横浜ものがたり」へ。
Then we headed to the "Hajimari no Mori (The forest of the start)" across the road. And entered "Yokohama Monogatari (story)" which is a kind of museum to introduce the history of Yokohama port.

最近横浜の歴史をいろいろ勉強したけど、更なる発見があっておもしろかった。馬車や電車のパネルで写真も撮れます（笑）
We've learned about the history but there were still some facts we hadn't known yet. There were also big panels that you can put yourself in and take pictures. Like this:

新橋まで53分〜（！！）It took 53 minutes from Yokohama (Sakuragicho) to Shimbashi by train at that time (and that line was the first one in Japan).

黒船レストラン。フードコートみたいな感じで、かなり開放的。
Kurofune (black ship) restaurant. It's like a cafeteria.

夜遅いとガラガラ・・・。

横浜開国バーガーと牛鍋うどん。おいしかったです。
Yokohama Kaikoku hamburger and Gyunabe (beef pot) udon. Tres bien!

昼間のチケットはちょっと高い気がするけど、近辺の博物館関係も割引になるので、一日横浜をまわるんだったらいいかな、と思います。地元民にはあまり意味ないかも？だけど。
I think the ticket for a day is a kind of expensive but as you can get discounts of other museums or ships nearby, it's not that bad if you take a day-trip to Yokohama. But the ticket thing is not that great for local people...

横浜開港資料館

開国博が始まりました。無料のところと有料のところがあるけど、有料の「黒船レストラン」とか行ってみたい気もするので、混雑をさけて日をあらためて・・・。遠足か修学旅行とおぼしき子供たちもいっぱい横浜をうろちょろしてます。

というわけ（？）で、ずっと気になっていた開港資料館に行ってみることに。開国博のチケット見せると入館料が半額になるらしいけど、もともと200円。展示品もそんなに多くはないけど。。なぜか私も英語のパンフをもらった・・・。

建物もステキです。目の前には大さん橋と、北欧レストランのSCANDIAがあります。元英国総領事館らしく、場所的にも日米和親条約締結の場所という歴史的なところ。建物の中央には大きな「たまくすの木」が。

The expo has started! There are free areas and also areas where you need to buy a ticket. I'd like to see the charged area some day later. There are also many school kids on school trip in Yokohama.

After looking through the free areas, we went to Yokohama Archives of History where I'd wanted to visit for long. We can enter with the 50% off fare if we show a Y150 ticket, but it's only ¥200 (which means it will be ¥100).
The building is also beautiful. It stands near the harbor, Osanbashi pier and the Scandinavian restaurant Scandia. It is used to be the British embassy and also the place where the Treaty between the U.S. and Japan was signed in mid-nineteenth century.

博物館のカフェって結構好き。ここはとりわけステキ☆前から気になってたんだけど、今回はじめて利用してみました。Au jardin de Perry。ペリーはアメリカ人ですが、フランス語で「ペリーの庭で」、そしてメニューもフレンチっぽいです（フランス語でも書いてあります。一部おじさんが「違う。。。」とツッコミを入れる箇所もありましたが。。。）

I like museum cafes! Particularly the cafe here was pretty and I'd wanted to try. The name of the cafe is Au jardin de Perry which means "at the garden of Perry" in French (I know Perry was an American...and the most of the menus are French and they are written in French as well, although Carl pointed out some mistakes...).

フレンチ・トースト(pain perdu)とクロックムッシュ。おいしかった！カフェ内部もかわいらしいです。そういえば、随分前にカールおじさんが教えてくれたけど、フレンチトーストはフランス語で「失われたパン」という意味の言葉で、古くなってカッチカチのバケットに卵と牛乳、砂糖をひたして調理し、復活させることから名付けれたようです。こういう名前の由来って興味深い。

We had French toasts and Croque monsieur. They're good! The interior of the cafe is also pretty. By the way, Carl told me that French toast was "pain perdu" which means "lost bread" in French. They cook an old and hard baguette (not "eatable") with some eggs, milk and sugar and "revive" it, and that's how they call it "lost bread". I always find it so interesting to learn the origins of names.

神奈川県立歴史博物館

先日、超日本通の友人と話していたら、日本史の話になり、「まんが日本の歴史」を読みながら勉強しているという彼は、ものすごく詳しくて、現役学生とはいえ、私も知らないようなこともいっぱい知っていました。すごく感心したんだよーという話を、カールおじさんにすると、本人も勉強しなきゃなぁ、と意識したらしく、寝室に歴史の本（英語）が出されていました（分かりやすい。。。）。

I was chatting with my friend who knows so much about Japan the other day and we ended up talking about Japanese history. He's learning it by reading comic books "manga Japanese History" and he has better knowledge on it than I do. I told Carl how much I was impressed by his knowledge and that might have stimulated him...I found a small book on Japanese history in the bed room lol.

おじさんの日本史知識は、ほぼ「るろうに剣心」によるもの。。そういう私も、高校では日本史選択で、世界史はその半分くらいの単位しか取ってないから、かなりうろ覚え・・・。イギリスなら英語史文学史でやったけど、フランスは「ベルサイユのばら」によるもの。。
Carl's knowledge on Japanese history was provided by the manga "Ruro ni Kenshin" which is set in the early modern Japan. I myself took more Japanese history classes than World history so I am not so sure about what happened in France. I know much better about British one because I was in the department of English literature at college, but when it comes to France...I just read and watched "Lady Oscar" :p

そんなわけで、歴史の勉強にと空いた時間に「神奈川県立歴史博物館」に連れて行きました。この建物は元・横浜正金銀行（後の東京銀行らしい）。古い建物好きの私のお気に入りの場所の１つ。馬車道にあります。
So we went to Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History in Bashamichi Street in Yokohama. This building used to be the bank and one of my favorite old buildings.

高校で卒業論文にあたるものがあり、そのテーマに「古代女性の生活」を選んだ私は、休みの日や放課後にここのライブラリに入り浸っていました。その論文も今思い返すと軸がぶれまくりだし、やり直したいくらいの代物ですが。。。提出が９９年７月だったので、友人と「どうせ（ノストラダムスの予言で）地球が滅亡するから、終わらなくても大丈夫！」とか話してたのを思い出します（笑）
Our high school required a thesis writing for graduation and I chose "The Life of Women in Old Japan", so I went there for the library on weekends and afterschools. I'm not satisfied with the thesis and I even wish if I could re-write it. I remembered the deadline was the July of 1999 so my friends and I were half laughing "the world will be over (for Nostradamus's sake) so we don't have to finish it!".

当時は学生証でタダで入れたけど、大人は有料。。特別展・常設展で1000円。今は開港150年記念の特別展をやっています。常設展はあくまで神奈川県なので、貝塚からの出土品や、鎌倉幕府、小田原北条氏、黒船来航〜が中心だけど、おおまかな日本史を説明できたと思う。
It's free for high school students but now we have to pay. It was 1000 yen for both special and regular exhibitions. Now the special one is for the 150 anniversary of the opening of Yokohama port. The regular exhibition is on Kanagawa prefecture so mainly the very old ages, Kamakura, Odawara and the black ship issue and later. I think I was able to explained the history briefly.

昨年は日仏交流150周年でした。1858年に、フランスとも通商修好条約を結んでいるし、横浜の居留地にはフランス人もいたし、フランス波止場やフランス山なんてのもあり、色々関係があっておもしろい
It was the 150 anniversary for Franco-Japon communication last year. They signed a treaty of friendship and commerce in 1858 and there were some French people in Yokohama foreign resident. There were French pier and Mt.France (where the embassy used to be). It's interesting to learn these connections:)

明治のチョコレート

先日の洋館めぐりで、ちょっとおもしろいものを見つけました。展示資料には、その館や山手に関係する人の写真や説明があるのですが、その中に、フランスの詩人で外交官のポール・クローデルさんという方のことがありました。
I found something interesting in one of the western style building the other day. There were old pictures and explanation about the building and people related to it. Among them I found a French poet and diplomat Paul Claudel.

もちろん（？）私は知らなかったけど、カールおじさんに言ったら一発でわかった。有名人なのか。。。お姉さんがカミーユさんといって、彫刻家でロダンの愛人でもあったとか。そのお姉さんのジャポニズムに影響されてか、親日家だったそうで。その方が横浜のインターナショナルスクールの文集に寄稿したというものに、「明治のチョコは芸術そのものだ」（フランス語原文は分かりませんでした）とありました。そういえば、カールおじさんのパパ（チョコ愛好者）も、明治のチョコおいしい！って言ってたなぁと思い出しました。私も大好き
I didn't know about him but when I asked Carl he immediately recognized him, so he must be famous. His big sister was Camille, who was a sculptor and also had an affair with Rodin. Maybe he was influenced by his sister's Japonism, he was fond of Japan. There was an article he wrote for an year book of one of the international schools in Yokohama telling "Meiji chocolate is an art"(I'm not so sure about the original French description:p). It reminds me of Carl's papa who also likes the chocolates by Meiji. I like them very much, too!

横浜山手西洋館めぐり

退職後のセカンドライフ？をエンジョイしている両親が、山手の洋館めぐりをすると言っていた（テレビで見たらしい＾＾；）ので、私も行ってみました。なんだかんだ今までゆっくり見たことがありませんでした。祖父母は子供の頃中区に住んでいたので、自分のルーツでもある？？すっかり様変わりしているけど。

My parents who enjoy after-retirement life together said they would walk around the bluff area (Yamate) where there are many western style old buildings (they were influenced by a TV program featured the tour...) So I joined it. Although I go there often I hadn't visited all the buildings yet. My grandparents lived in Naka ward when they're kids but the town changed a lot I guess!

スタンプラリーになっていて、７カ所にスタンプがありました。Seven of the buildings have stamps and you can enjoy a stamp rally.

イタリア山公園にある外交官の家。もともと渋谷にあった、日本人外交官のお宅を移築したとか。洋館と和館があったけど、後者は残っていないみたい。
Diplomat's house in Italian Garden. It used to be in Shibuya and was owned by a Japanese diplomat. It has a western-style house and a Japanese one but only the former is left.

そのお隣、ブラフ18番館。山手は今でも外国人が多いけど、関東大震災でたくさんの人が神戸や上海にお引っ越ししたって書いてあった。以前、神戸の異人館めぐりもしたけど、そういうことだったのか。
Next to it, Bluff No.18. There are still many foreign people living in this area, but many moved out to Kobe and Shanghai after a big earthquake struck Tokyo area. I've visited western buildings in Kobe before, too.

スタンプラリーには含まれていないけど、山手68番館。山手公園の中にあって、ここは日本初の洋風公園かつ日本テニス発祥の地らしい。テニスコートは今でも解放されているみたい。ここは桜がたくさんあって、桜吹雪が見事でした！
It's not included in the stamp rally, Bluff No.68. It stands in Yamate Park and the park is the first western style park in Japan and also the first place where the tennis was played in Japan. It seems the tennis courts are open for everyone. There are so many cherry blossoms and the petal storm was so beautiful.

山手本通りに出ると、カトリック山手教会があります。英語ではSacred heart、フランス語でSacre coeur（サクレクール）で、パリの北、モンマルトルにあるあの教会と同じ名前。ここにあるマリア像は、フランスからの贈り物らしいです。きれいだけど、かなり古いものみたい。
There is Church of The Sacred Heart along Yamate Street. In French, Sacre Coeur which is the same name as the one in Paris Montmartre. There is a statue of Mary which was sent from France many many years ago.

さらに進むと、ベーリックホール。おっきいです。広いホールがあって、コンサートに使われている模様。サンルームの床がベルサイユちっくでした。
Walk along the street we arrived at Berrick Hall. It was a huge house and the large hall on the ground floor is used for concerts it seems. The floor tiles of the solarium just looked like the Versailles ones (black and white).

おとなりは元町公園内にあるエリスマン邸。こちらは質素な感じがする。でも全体的に南欧っぽい建物が多い。
Right next to it, there is Ehrisman Residence. It's smaller and simple. All those buildings are like southern-european style.

山手234館。こちらはアパートだったらしい。
Bluff No.234. It used to be an apartment.

ここでランチ。たくさん歩いたし、お腹ぺこぺこ。
Lunch time! I walked a lot! Starving!!

ほぼ終点。港の見える丘公園にあるイギリス館。こちらは後ろから。トナリのバラ園もすばらしいです（まだ咲いてないけどね、咲いてる時）。ちょうど学校終業時刻で、インターナショナルスクールにお迎えの車が行列作ってました。遠くから通ってる人も多いんだろうけど、日本では普通、徒歩または公共の交通機関ですよね。子供が一人で登校できる安全な国でいて欲しい。
Almost the end of the journey. British House in Harbor view park. There is a wonderful rose garden next to it (not in bloom yet). It was just around the time for kids to go home and there was a loooong queue of cars to pick the students up at the international school nearby. I guess many students live far from the school but usually in Japan kids go to school on foot or by public transportations. I hope this country to be (keep?) safe so that kids can go to school alone.

裏には、山手111番館。うんスペインっぽい。えのき亭ローズガーデンというカフェがあります。手前のオープンカフェも含む。室内もバラだらけ。えのき亭の本店？山手通りにあるお店もステキです。
In the back of the British House, there is Bluff No.111. Very Spanish! And it has a cafe called Enokitei Rose Garden. Many rose items inside, too. The main cafe? Enokitei along Yamate Street is also beautiful.

おやつ。バラのシフォン。季節限定さくらのもあったけど。。
Chiffon cake of rose! They also have seasonal cherry blossom chiffon cake.

あらためて、横浜愛が深まりました。Je Yokohama!

初・富山

電車だとちょっと面倒なので、飛行機でひとっ飛びにしました。初めての北陸。初めての富山。数年前まで海に面していることも知らず、数日前まで石川県より下だと思ってた。。。地理がニガテな私。残念ながら、日本海を肉眼で拝むことはできなかったし、24時間も滞在しなかったけど、初めてなのでとにかく楽しみ♪
It was my first time to visit Toyama. I didn't even know the exact place...I'm not good at geography... We stayed less than twenty four hours and it was a regret that we couldn't actually see Japan Sea, we really enjoyed it. It was our first trip after marriage, so we can call it a petit honeymoon.

そして、結婚してから初の遠出なので、Un petit lune de miel、プチハネムーンですな

羽田から1時間かからない。あっという間に着いた！！空港出ると、

山ーーーーー！！！！

It took less than an hour and when we got out of the airport, there are snowcapped mountains!! My friend advised us to put on warm clothes as it is very cold in winter and we did, but it was very warm on the day (ten degrees C higher than the average).

ああ、そうか、だから富山なのか！！と後で気づいた。すごい寒いと聞いていたので、完全防備して来たのに、当日は平年を10度上回る暖かさ。で、山もくっきり。

しかし、外国人がめずらしいのか、カールおじさんは荷物Pick upの間、地元民とおぼしき少女（推定3歳）に激しいアプローチを受けていました。笑

ロシア語ー！！！！ウラジオストック行きがあるからか。なんか感動。

They have flights to Vladivostok, so there are Russian description too.

ホテルは市内中心部。部屋からはクリスマスイルミネーション中の大通りが！富山のシャンゼリゼだ。The hotel stands in the center of the city, about thirty minutes by bus. We could see the Christmas illuminations along the main street from our room. It's as if the avenue des Champs Elysees of Toyama.

お城の前も。キレイ～。また、楽しみなのがローカル放送。地元情報が満載のローカル番組っておもしろい。An old castle park was right in front of the hotel. Every time I travel, I also enjoy the local TV there!

中部地方限定のズーむすびもゲット！長野のだけど、野沢菜大好き。

以前お土産にもいただきましたが、ます寿司（のおむすび）。美味しい～ Trout sushi. C'etait tres bon!

富山大学の研究所と共同開発？おわら桑摘み茶。一口目は「！？？！？」って感じでしたが、慣れると大丈夫。蚕になった気持ちです。笑　ちなみに、うしろはお土産の羽二重餅。あと、氷見うどんも買いました～。

さて、友人の結婚パーティーお開き後、お疲れもたまっていたので、まっすぐ帰ってすぐに寝てしまったのですが。。。

夢の中で、私はまだパーティーにいました。友人と話していると、天の声が聞こえてきたのです。

「ごくろう～、ごくろう～」

何がご苦労？？？私何かしたかしら？？と思っていると、目が覚めた。

トナリのベッドから、

「ゴーークゥーー･･･」と寝息というよりいびきに近い音が。。。

これか・・・

その後、6時にお寺の鐘の音で目が覚めた。鐘の音で目覚めるなんてステキ！と思いながら二度寝しましたが。

とにかく、楽しい小旅行でした！

Kamakura

おフランスのお友達と鎌倉に行って来ました
今日は冬かと思うほど寒かった

①大仏（高徳院）Daibutsu (Big Buddha: Kotokuin Temple)
江の電長谷駅から歩いて１０分くらい。途中、雷神堂でおせんべいを購入。
It takes about 10 minutes from Hase station (Enoden line). We bought a big rice biscuit (made of baked rice cake with soy sauce).

大仏さまは、もう１０年以上お目通りしてないです。。。お変わりなくてなにより。
I hadn't seen it for more than 10 years! Of course he hasn't changed at all. I think it is the biggest one in Japan. You can get inside of the Buddha by paying 20JPY (The entrance fee of the temple is 200JPY).

②長谷寺 (Hase temple)
大仏さまに向かう途中、左手にあるお寺。実は子供の頃に行ったことがある、と母は言っていたけど、、、覚えてない。季節のお花がすごくキレイ！あじさいの時期はもっとすごいね。高台にあるから、湘南の海もよく見える。金色に輝く観音様に感動しました。また、水子供養のお寺としても、大黒様のいるお寺としても有名みたいですね。
It is on the left side in the middle of the way to Daibutsu. My mom told me that we had been there when I was a kid, but I don't remember. They grow flowers of each season and are famous for their hydransia flowers. It is on a hill and we can also enjoy the view of Shonan seaside. I was so impressed by the golden Kannon ("guan yin" in chinese, one of the buddha). And they are also famous for spritual treatment of Mizuko (miscarried babies) and one of the Seven Gods, Daikoku sama.

Then we had a late lunch. We enjoyed Soba noodle! We were at a table called Zashiki, which is on tatami floor and we sit on there. It was his first time and he looked happy to try it (both Zashiki and Soba).
そこで、遅めのランチ。おそば屋さんに行きました。彼にとって、初めてのお座敷＆そば！でも果敢（？）にも挑戦していました。

③小町通＆鶴岡八幡宮 Komachi street and Tsuruoka Hachimangu shrine
鎌倉で楽しいことの一つは、食べながら歩くこと！

What I like at Kamakura is to eat snacks when walking on the street!
さくら餡のよもぎ団子。Yomogi dango(rice cake) with cherry leaves&bean jam

ソメイヨシノは散ってたけど、まだまだ「桜」モノが多い季節です。

たまたまお祭りで、お琴の生演奏！びっくり＆感動しました。
We didn't know that there was a festival there today! And some ladies played Koto (Japanese traditional instrument with strings), which was so beautiful.

おみくじは。。。。末吉。The fortune paper I drew was... the bottom rank of good luck.

帰りは遅かったからお店がほとんど閉まってたけど、鎌倉五郎本店でさくらしぐれを買いました！
かわいい！おいしい！！

彼は本当によく「予習」してきていて、非常に感心しました。こんなに熱心な旅行者は稀です。というわけで、最優秀旅行者賞をあげたいです
He studied about Japan before he came here and I really admire his attitude. I have never seen such a good tourist so I would like to give him The Best Tourist Award!

Autumn in Kyoto 秋の京都

突然ですが、この週末京都に行ってきました。
秋のベストシーズンであることは意図していなかったのだけど、すんごい人！！！有名どころには臨時バスが出ているのですが、中も外（道路）も混み混み。

I visited Kyoto this weekend. I didn't intend to go there in the best season...there were so many people there!!

とりあえず、清水寺に行ってきましたよ〜♪
Anyways, I went to Kiyomizudera.

Koyo(leaves turning their colors) was 20 to 30 % proceeded. The weather was beautiful and it was rather a little hot in the daytime. See the reflection on the pond!
紅葉は２〜３分というところ。お天気も良好。昼間は歩いているとちょっと暑いくらい。

そこから、お気に入りの四条まで歩いて、鍵善でくずきり食べました☆
あとよーじやでお買い物（＾＾）２年以上来てなかったし、あぶらとり紙きらしてたんだ。

ロンドン・・・と言えばロック、パンク。
せっかくだから、UKロックのCDでも買うか〜とHMVに入って物色。

When it comes to London...I think of Rock and Punk music.
So I thought why didn't I get one and I looked for it at HMV.

Rooney Calling The Worldを発見。
サマソニで、目当てのバンドの前に演奏してて、「あ、いいかも♪」って思ってたのよね。
"When Did Your Heart Go Missing"が印象的で。。。
I happened to listen to them when I went to Summer Sonic07 and they were playing before the band I wanted to see. And I found they're cool and I like "When Did Your Heart Go Missing"

購入。I bought it.

Brussels 〜グルメ編Gourmet〜

ベルギー、と言えば！！　When it comest to Belgium
チョコ！！ワッフル！！ビール！！ Chocolate, Waffle and Beer!
３つ目はダメだけど、あとは楽しみにしてました。I don't like Beer but the other two!

しょこらごーふる、しるぶぶれ！A waffle with chocolate! It was biggar than I thought and I couldn't finish it.

We went to the restaurant 't Kelderke in Grand Place at night. 夕飯は、ガイドブックに載っていたケルデルクというグランプラスにあるレストランへ。さすが、日本語のメニュー（というかガイドブックのコピー）をだしてくれました。ぶっきらぼうそうなおじさんばかりでしたが、お料理はおいしかった！
おいしすぎて、写真撮り忘れた！！！

くらいし、携帯カメラなので画像が悪いけど、お料理の一つ、ミートボールのトマト煮。あと、牛肉のビール煮込み、クリームコロッケを堪能（＾＾） Boulettes sauce tomates (Meatballs with tomato sauce). We also had Croquettes de crevettes (Shrimp croquettes) and Carbonnades Flamandes a la biere (beef stewed with beer).

バケットとフライドポテトもついてくるんだけど、ソースつけて食べるとこれがまたうまい！のだ。

I really liked olives covered with chocolate sold at this shop. And the shop is so cute!
このお店で売ってた、チョコで包まれたオリーブがおいしかった！カワイイお店でしょ？

Brussels 〜観光編Sightseeing〜

ベルギーはブリュッセル！初上陸です。

ロンドンからおよそ４５分。時差は＋１時間。
空港からは、Airport Expressが出ていて、ブリュッセル北駅、中央駅、南駅へと行きます。
だいたい２０分くらい。空港の下から出ていて、比較的便利ですね。

It was my first time to visit Brussels! It took about 45 min from London Heathrow. From the airport we can take Airport Express train to Brussels Nord, Central and Midi. It took about 20 minutes and the train departs from the underground of the airport.

We stayed at Marriot Brussels hotel, which locates about 10 minutes walk from Brussels Central station. But the pavement wasn't great for tourists with suitcases!
こちらでは５つ星ホテルのホテルに泊まりましたが、結構歩いた上に迷って、しかも日曜であちこち混んでて、大石畳も大荷物を持った旅行客には優しくないです、、、

駅からホテルの間には、有名なグランプラスがあります。

Grand Place.

キレイですねぇ〜。市庁舎らしいですよ。あと、意外と小さいけど、ゴディバの本店もあったりして。カフェも多くてにぎやか！

So beautiful! I didn't know that the small Godiva shop there was the head store. There are many open cafes, too!

証券取引所です。またご立派！ The stock market.

St. Michel Cathedral. このような教会が至る所にありますねぇ。

ブリュッセルに行ったら、一気に中国人観光客が多くなった。住んでる人も多そう。
I saw many Chinese tourists there (than in London). There were some shops run by Chinese people.

Manneken Pis　小便小僧　locates close to Grand Place.

ベルギーと言えばタンタン！こんなところにもタンタンがいました。ミュージアムに行けなくて残念。
Tintin is also famous! I regret that I couldn't go to the museum...

London 〜ブチ切れ編I can't take it anymore!! Part2〜

2) The nightmare at Heathrow　ヒースローでの悪夢

思い出すだけでもぞっとする。。。

もともと、乗り継ぎ時間が最低限しかなくて、大丈夫かな？って思ってたのでしたが、H○Sのお兄さんが取ってくれたチケットだし、、、なんて甘く考えてた。

We were a little worried because we had minimum time to transit at Heathrow. But we ordered the ticket at a big travel agent (say, professional!) so we thought it'll be alight...

Heathrow Airport has four terminals and they're constructing the fifth now. And we need to get on a bus to change terminals. And it took 10-15 minutes to move from one terminal to the other.
ヒースローは４つターミナルあって、５つ目を建設中らしい。ターミナル間を移動するにはバスに乗らなければならず、１０分くらいはかかります。

We left very early and arrived at Brussels Airport three hours before the flight. We checked in with the automatic self check-in machine and got boarding tickets, and went to the BA counter to drop our baggage. The crew said to change Terminal 3 at Heathrow. We thought we were to change to Terminal 1 as I heard BA international flight to Tokyo, HongKong, SF etc... depart from Terminal 1. But he said Terminal 3 so we trusted him...but it was a mistake.

ブリュッセル空港では、チェックインはBAのセルフチェックインの機械で行い、預け入れ荷物だけBag Dropのカウンターに持って行った。そこのお兄さんに、ヒースローでターミナル３で乗り換えるよう言われたので、彼を信じたのに。。。。

Of course, the flight from Brussels to Heathrow was late. So at this point it's impossible that we caught the connection flight, but I had never missed flight before and I was in a panic. We hurried to Terminal 3 and of course there as a long line for the security check. Besides, I forgot to take out the cosmetics I bought at a dusy free shop and I had to let them check my bag. Plus, an Indian guy who got his bag checked had suspicious drugs and it took so much time! And I had to wait again. I was already hopeless at that time but I claimed that we're missing our flight and the security girl said "You're in a wrong terminal, you'll miss the flight anyway" and her attitude and word made me so furious!

ブリュッセルからヒースローへの飛行機も当然のごとくおくれ、今まで飛行機を逃したことのなかった私はかなりパニックでした。とりあえず、ターミナル３へ向かったところ、セキュリティチェックの長い列。しかも、免税店で買った化粧品（液体）をうっかり鞄に入れっぱなしで、ひっかかった。しかも前にいたインド人のおじさんが怪しげな薬を持っていたせいでさらに時間がかかり、、、一応、飛行機乗り遅れる！って訴えたところ、「ターミナル違うから、どっちにしても乗れないわよ」といわれ、ブチッ。

空港の人に文句言っても仕方ないけど、、でもみんな違うターミナル（１とか４とか）に行けって言われて、ほんとにパニック。結局ターミナル１に行ったけど、バスも時間がかかったし、そこでもまたセキュリティチェックの長い列。しかも入場制限。お兄さんに急いでいる旨を伝えたものの、みんな同じ状況だから、と（思い返せば、カワイイお兄さんだったので、パニックになってた自分が恥ずかしい）。周りの乗客もほんとにアワアワしてた。

I know there's no use to blame staff at the airport, but each crew told us different terminals (some said 1 and the other said 4) so we were in a panic. Afterall we went to Terminal 1 by the bus and there was also a loooooong line for security check. I told the guy there that we were missing our flight but he said everybody was in the same situation. Passengers around us were also worried.

結局その後も空港の人に聞いて、もうムリだということが完全に明らかになったので、BAの人に交渉に行くことに。この時も、同じ状況の人がいっぱいいて、空港の人も「いっぺんにしゃべらないで！！」とお困りでした（でもこちらはそれどころではない）。BAのおじさんに伝えると、Fast Lane的な優先のセキュリティレーンがあり、そこを通ってBAのカウンターへ。また別のおじさんに事情を説明すると、「たしかに（ブリュッセルからの便が）少し遅れましたね。。。」とカウンターへ通された。そこでお兄さんにまた説明して、幸運にも２時間後に成田行きがもう１本あったので、席を確保できた。。。この時はほんとに安心したよぉお。荷物もないし、翌日だったらどうしようと思って！

Later we finally found that we really missed the flight. The security check place was so crowded and people in a critical situation like us tried to ask crews about the flight so the crew said "don't speak at the same time!". We asked a BA crew there and he told us to head to the BA counter after security check(there's a kind of Fast Lane), and we went there and explained the situation to another guy and he said the flight from Brussels were a little late and allowed us to go to the counter. There I explained again and the guy at the counter found seats on the next flight which left two hours later. We were so relieved!!

結局、スーツケースも次の便に乗ってたので、どっちにしろ間に合わなかったんだな。
２時間後の便があるなら、最初からそっちにしろ！！！と言いたいけど、とりあえず無事に帰れてよかった。

Our baggage were on the same plane so we'd actually missed the flight even if we didn't go to the wrong terminal. But I want to say that if there's another flight two hours later, why didn't they reserved that flight so that we didn't need to be in trouble. But I'm happy that we were able to come home!

そんなわけで、アニマル浜口さんたちと同じ飛行機でしたが、吠えるのは見ずにさっさと帰りました。

London 〜ブチ切れ編I can't take it anymore!! Part1〜

おまたせ？しましたの、ブチ切れ編。。。
旅にトラブルはつきものですが、、、そしてロンドンは大好きだけど、今回は２回ほどブチ切れました。
Of course I love London and I know there're always some trouble when you are travelling, but there were two things (incidents) that I really got mad at.

1) I don't call it "flushing" when I have to pump it three times!
パディントン駅から近いホテル。値段はブリュッセルの５つ星ホテルとさほど変わらないのに、B＆B。まぁそれでも十分で、バスタブもついてるし。。。と思ったら甘かった。
トイレが流れない。。。。
The hotel we stayed in London costed almost the same amount as the five-star hotel in Brussels, but it was B&B style. Of course it was OK as we just came back to take a bath and sleep...besides there's bustab in the bathroom... but it wasn't ok. The toilet didn't flush.

いやいやいやいや、しかも３人１部屋なんだけど。流れないというか、一度は流れる。けどその後すぐ流そうとすると、水がちょろっと出ておしまい。もちろん、即フロントに抗議。私たちが夕飯に出ている間に調べるから、と言われて疑いながら外出。帰ってくる。もちろん調べちゃいねぇ。
It flushed at first but if I tried to flush it again immediately, a little water came out and it didn't work. Of course I went to claim it and the clerk said he'd go and check while we were out. But I knew he wouldn't.

トイレが流れないってありえないんですけどー！！部屋替えてよ！と抗議。でも満室。とりあえず、１５分後に見に行くから、と。もちろん来やしない。　ブチッ。
It's really impossible to stay the room with a useless toilet and I asked them to change the room but there's no room that night. The clerk said he'd come in 15 min, of course he didn't.

フロントまで降りて行く。。。おじさんが状況に気づいて、「今すぐ行くから！マダム！」
来るまでフロント前で待ち伏せ。やっと来た。で、結論から言うと。
I went down to the reception and he soon realized that I was really really mad and he replied "I'll come soon ma'am". I couldn't trust him so I waited in front of the reception. And at last he came with me. Then he said,

「流れてるじゃないか」 "It flushes"

は？　huh?

トイレがタンク式で、お水をポンプで押し出すように３回ほどレバーを引けと。もちろんそれをやっても流れない、そうしたら、水がたまるまで待てと（ちなみに３階＝＝日本の４階）。十分な水がたまるまで、３０分近く必要だった。とりあえず、私の怒りように気づいて、態度が変わった。結果的に翌日に部屋を替えてもらえたが、以下のやりとり。

According to him, we need to pull the lever three times to flush the toilet, but if I did, it didn't flush the second time. Then he said we had to wait for the water to fill in the tank (btw, it was the third floor) . We found that it took at least 30 minutes... Anyways, to have seen me so angry, the clerk changed his attitude and afterall we're able to change the room next day.

"If you want you can change the room"
「部屋を変えられますよ」
"Really? Then we'll move when we get back this afternoon"
「ほんとに？じゃあ午後に帰ってきたら移ります」
"No, you have to pack your stuff right now and I will carry them to a new room or there'll be no room"
「いや、今すぐ荷物をまとめて、そうしたら運びますから。じゃないと、（午後には）部屋がいっぱいになります
"???"

つまりなに？今日チェックインする人たちを、あの壊れトイレの部屋に通す気？
とりあえず、自分の身の安全（？）が先なので、詮索せずに部屋を移りました。。。
I guess they'd put another guests in the room with the broken toilet...
But we could hardly stay at the room so we changed.

それだけじゃないのよ。

コンセントの接触が悪くて、重しをしておかないと使えなかった。。。
朝ご飯はお皿がなかったり。。。今度は多少高くとも、☆の多いホテルにしよう、と心に誓った。

There's another problem about the power supply. The connection was bad and I needed to hang something a bit heavy. And there weren't enough plates at the breakfast either...
I think we should choose a 4 or 5 star hotel next time even though it's expensive.

London 〜お買い物編Shopping〜

I love shopping!! というわけで、お買い物編です。

まずは、ショッピングモール、コベントガーデンでゲットしたモノ。
B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful

The costmetic brand by Lush. As the name of the brand is too long, it seems to be called just "B" or "BN2B2BB" lol But I do like the name! And the shop is lovely as well. I liked the shop assistent there too. She's so cute.
日本でもおなじみ、Lushのコスメブランドで、名前が長過ぎるため、BまたはBN2B2BBと略されている模様。「キレイになるのに忙しすぎることなんてナイ！」は私も肝に銘じます。カワイイ。お店もかわいい。コベントガーデンのお店は、地下もあって、容器もロマンチックでカワイイです。コンサルしてくれたお姉さんもかわいくて（＞＜）

リップもいい香りがします。

And my best favorite Coffee and Tea shop, H.R. Higgins. The shop locates on Duke Street, about five minutes on foot from Bond Street station. They're famous for their Coffee and got Royal warrant on it, but I like their Tea very much. Last time I visited there, the assistant recommended "Higgins Afternoon", which was really good. This time another man suggested that I should get Sikkim (not flavoured).

前回来たときに、すごい気に入ったヒギンスの紅茶。ボンドストリート駅から徒歩５分ほど、デュークストリートにあります。コーヒーで王室御用達となりましたが、紅茶もすばらしい。前回、お兄さんが勧めてくれたヒギンスアフタヌーン、それから、今回別のお兄さんが強く勧めたシキムという紅茶を買いました。いい香り☆

ロンドンと言えば、パンク熟成の地。。そのファッションといえば、ヴィヴィアン・ウェストウッド。。。
ブランド街のニューボンドストリートから、サザビーズの所を曲がってまっすぐ行ったところに、お店があります。
そこでピアスを購入(^^)なぜかお店には中国人の若者一団が。。。

London reminds me of the Punk music (that I love a lot) and the punk fashion is...Vivienn Westwood! The shop is near Sotherby's and there were many young Chinese in the shop when I visited. And I've got this earrings:-)

I also got a pair of earrings at Accessorize. This store seems to be very popular and you can find the shop in many places including stations and Heathrow airport. The prices are reasonable.

Accessorizeでもピアスを購入。このお店は女の子向けのバッグやアクセサリーなどを販売していて、ロンドンの至る所にあります。エキナカや空港にも。値段もお手頃で、ほんとはもっといっぱい買いたかったです。。

以上、とりあえずお気に入りのお店たちでした☆

London 〜観光編Sightseeing part3〜

So, we arrived at Trafalgar Square just in front of The National Gallery.

高い塔がそびえ立ち　a tower (pole?) maybe to celebrate the winning of the war.

さらに北へ。We went up Haymarket street.

Her Majesty's Theatre, where I watched The Phantom of the Opera three years ago.　以前オペラ座の怪人を観た劇場です。

Piccadilly Circus, the famous statue of the Eros. And the place reminds me of the Poirot stories by Agatha Christie. ピカデリーサーカス。エロス像が有名ですね。アガサクリスティの名探偵ポワロにも出てきて、印象的。ここでも、ヒールが石畳にハマってしまいました。。。ロンドンでもやるとは。。。

We got on the tube again, this time Piccadily Line, and went to Covent Garden. There is a big shopping mall and I went there last time, too. There are somany shops and restaurants (cafes) and we can enjoy shopping (see London Shopping episode later).

地下鉄に乗ってコベントガーデンへ行きました。ここは、ショッピングモールになっていて、いろんなお店や食べ物屋さんが軒を連ねています。詳しくはロンドン〜買い物編〜でね。とりあえず、ここでお昼。

Also, Covent Garden is famous as the place where Eliza and Professor Higgins met in front of Royal Opera House in the film My Fair Lady. コベントガーデンといえば、映画マイフェアレディでイライザとヒギンス博士が会った場所としても有名。ロイヤルオペラハウスですね。

前回はイマイチ場所が分からず、写真が撮れなかったロイヤルオペラハウス。リベンジ達成。笑

そして、、、お買い物の後。足がガクガクするほど疲れていたけど、行ったよ。。。。聖地の１つへ。
I was so exhausted after the sightseeing and shopping, but still I went the place...

ロック好き、ビートルズ好きには外せませんよねぇ。
スタジオは至って普通（そりゃそうだ）。
This is the studio. I love rock music and the Beatles, and I HAD TO GO there :-p

London 〜観光編Sightseeing part2〜

ロンドンが初めての二人を連れて、ツアコン開始!

スタートはパディントン駅（地下鉄）ですが、早速電車遅延（--；)
We got on Central Line from Paddington -->Baker Street changed Jubilee Line -->Westminster.

Here you are, Big Ben!!　駅を出たらビッグベンです。

We headed for Westminster Abbey and this time we entered the building. It costs £10 /adult, but I thought it'd be worth seeing it...of course it was! (and it also appears in the Da Vinci Code). No photos are allowed inside the abbey so there's no pics. I felt so holy inside. I couldn't believe that there lay people underneath the floor...

オトナ£１０は高いけど、見る価値ある。ダイアナ妃のお葬式でも有名なウェストミンスター寺院。床のあちこちにも「ここに〜〜が眠っています」的なことが書いてあって、、、踏んでいいの？
中では写真ダメなので（わたしも人のお墓で写真を撮る趣味はない）、外側だけね。

Then, we went up the street to Trafalgar Square & National Gallery. And we saw the Horse Guard. そのまま通りをトラファルガースクエア方面に行きました。ら、発見。

The notice says, "The hourse may kick or bite..."
馬が蹴ったり噛んだりするかもしれません、と。。。兵隊さんは上長の指示があるまで動けないけど、馬はね（笑）

London 〜観光編Sightseeing part1〜

急に寒くなりましたねー。先週、ロンドンも寒かったです。ジャケット着ても朝晩は寒い！
It suddenly got cold today. It was cold in London last week when I visited. We needed a jacket.

さて、観光と言っても、お買い物もしたいし、時間もないし、私は前にも一通り観光したので、ほんとに押さえたいところだけしぼってツアコンしました。

ロンドンといえば、地下鉄、Underground、別名Tubeですね。まさにチューブ、平均的英国人のガタイに対して小さすぎると思うんですけど。香港に行ったときは、オクトパス買ったけど、今回も「また来よう」という意味も込めて、オイスターカードを買いました。

We bought Oyster.　£３ is required for deposit, and we loaded 10. If you travel only within Zone 1 and 2 (which covers most of the central city stations), Oyster is cheaper than One Day Travel Card (off-peak 5.10) because you don't need to pay more than £4.6 in one day (no matter how many times you use it).
Suicaと一緒で、デポジットに£３、で£１０チャージしてもらいました。一乗車につき£１．５で、ゾーン１、２（中心地はだいたいここに収まる）を出なければ、一日何度乗っても£4.6以上は課金されないみたい。オフピークってのがあって、平日の９：３０〜と土日祝は料金が安くなる。One Day Travelカードでも、オフピークゾーン１＆２で５．１０だから、Oysterのがお得ね。二度と使わないなら、デポジットとか面倒だけど。

というわけで、今回は地下鉄と徒歩で移動しました。ホテルからはパディントン駅が近いけど、お買い物スポットのOxford CircusやBond Streetに行くにはCentral Lineなので、５分ほど歩いてLancaster Gateを使いました。この駅はHyde Parkの目の前にあります。

旅行に行くと、朝のお散歩がちょっと好きなので、早起きして一人でHyde Parkを散策してみました。

ハイドパークに行った１番の目的はピーターパンに会うこと！あーネバーランド行きたい。でも年齢制限だな。。。フック船長の手下になるしかないのか。。。

リスちゃん発見！

湖には水鳥もたくさんいました。「水浴び、釣り、イヌの湖侵入禁止」とありますが。。。柵とか全然なくて、この浮き輪がなんとも言えない。。。うっかり落ちそうですよ。
Not only squirrels but swans, ducks were there also. It says "No bathing, fishing or dogs allowed in this lake", but there's no fense and I think it is very easy to fall into it (not on purpose).

Yeah, there were many people jogging　or taking a walk with their dogs.
Look, there're trash boxes for dog's waste.

イヌ連れの方が多いです。イヌ専用のゴミ箱もところどころに（親切ね）。

朝と言っても９時頃だけど、まだまだ寒かった（＞＜）ジャケットにストールのフル装備（９月にしては）だったけど。

London 〜到着編Arrival〜

今回はBritish Airwaysを利用。日本から直行で１２時間半くらいでヒースロー空港に到着。
ホテルは、空港からのアクセスの良いパディントン駅近くに取りました。

It took twelve and half an hours from Narita to Heathrow. We reserved a hotel close to Paddington station as there's a non-stop train from the airport to Paddington which takes about 15-20 minutes.

BAの成田→ヒースロー便にもパーソナルテレビ付き。Entertainment Systemはなかなかよかったですよ。
Spiderman 3, Mr. Bean's Holidayなどを観て、 Fantastic Fourは開始３０分で爆睡。

多分モンゴルあたり。I guess we flew above Mongolia.

入国手続きが済み、第１ターミナルを出ると、右手に電車のチケット売り場がありました。自動券売機とカウンターがあります。シングルとリターンとあって、リターンだとちょっと安くなる。１ヶ月有効で、ヒースロー⇔パディントン往復できます。
We got out of Terminal 1 and found a train ticket counter in our right. There're ticket machines and a counter. And also we can choose single ticket or return ticket. Return tickets are a little cheaper than buying two single tickets. You can travel from Heathrow to Paddington and back with return ticket and it is valid for a month.

The platform is underground. There're lifts next to the ticket counter.
プラットフォームは地下。隣のエレベータで降りて行きます。

これがヒースローエクスプレス。結構便利です。１等とエクスプレスクラスがあります。
This is the Heathrow Express. They have 1st class and express class, go to Paddington station without stops.

ホテルはパディントン駅からおよそ１分。便利ですが。。。またここでも問題が。。。

A New Suitcase

夏休みと旅行の予定が決まり、わくわく。
就職してから、一回も旅行に行けてなくて、ほんとうに久しぶり！
Finally my belated summer holiday plan is fixed.
I haven't travelled to anywhere since I started working so I'm very excited.

そんなわけで、スーツケースです。
高校生の時から使ってるやつ、もう何十回近い飛行によりかなりくたびれていました。キャスターは２つしかついてないだけど、ストラップがついていて、引っ張っていけるので、「ポチ」と呼んでいました（※犬みたいだから）。
しかし、前回コペンハーゲンに行った際に、ポチの所以たるストラップが取れてなくなってしまい、もうこれは引退だな、と。

My suitcase, which I called "Pochi(a typical dog name)" as it has a strap and I can pull it, was nearly broken over twenty flights. Besides the strap was gone when I flew to Copenhagen last year and I thought I should get a new one.

姉がネットで買ったお買い得スーツケースは１回のフライトで故障。それを考えると、スーツケースはそれなりにいいものを買った方がいいのかなぁ、と思って、１週間悩んでました。
ネットやデパートやハンズやロフトを見てまわって、決めたのがこれ。

The Scandinavian interior brand Innovator designed suitcase.
北欧インテリアブランドのInnovatorのデザインのスーツケースです。（北欧ってところ、スウェーデンの国旗にかなり惹かれたことは否めない。。）

The inside is like this. 中はこんな感じ。

My sister bought a cheap one online last year and it broke after only one flight. So I thought I should get something better even if it's a bit expensive. I searched websites, went to department stores and Tokyu Hands and Loft and decided to get this one. I must confess that I was fascinated by the Swedish flag :p

結構でかいです。８１L入るし。でもポリカーボネイト100%で、軽い！白いんで、傷や汚れで（精神的に）凹むかもしれないけど、仕方ない。これからよろしくね♪ポチは引退して、収納として使います。

It's big and can contain 81L. It is made of polycarbonate and very light as well. As it's white I am a little worried about the scratches and stains, but it's a fate for suitcases. I'm looking forward to the trip with this new "mate". Pochi is "retired" and I'll use it as a cloths box.

P.S. I haven't decided the name yet... mmm

Diddle in Denmark

It was another busy week for me.
なんか疲れた。。。

さて、ヨーロッパではおなじみのDiddle、半年以上経ってるけど
この前行った時にも買いました。

Unfortunately, we can't get Diddle at stores like Sony Plaza in Japan.

But I guess Diddle-fan community are developing now.

These are the Diddles I bought in Copenhagen this past February. This time, only two stuffs, actually one is Pimboli (the bear).

これはコペンハーゲン中央駅の中の雑貨屋さんで買ったんだけど、袋もDiddleなの！
They give Diddle paper bag if you buy some Diddles at the shop. It's really cute.

ちなみに、コペンハーゲン中央駅ってこんな感じ。

This is Copenhagen Central Station -->
There're shops such as the Body Shop, MacDonald's CDs, and even Manga (comic books).

Most of the train stations I've seen in Europe keep its traditional style.

駅！？ってくらい素敵な建物。日本ではあまり見られないよね。
ま、地震多いし、人も多いし、仕方ないか。京都駅とか、すっごい大きいし、近代的でビックリする。
When it comes to Japan, the typical old city Kyoto has a huge, modernized central station. Some say it destroys Kyoto's beautiful and traditional scenery. But if it's small or old(wooden?), I wonder if it's capable of such a large number of tourists.

ちなみに、Pimboliの携帯ストラップは、もったいなくて使ってません。
そういえば、携帯壊れたんだった・・・ここのところ、私からメールの返信が
ないと言う方、申し訳ありません。メール受信ができないことに、昨日気づいたもんで。

賞味期限

旅行先でお菓子を買うのが大好きなのですが、
おもしろいやつは、スクラップブックにしておきます。

いつも、考えてしまうのが、『賞味期限の表記法』
食べ忘れが多いので、非常に大事です。

日本だと、『２００６．８．１７』とか、『０６．８』のように年月日になってる。

中国の場合、
精算日期： ２００１０２１４
日本とおんなじで、年月日ですね。

此日期前最佳（Best Before）が書いてない！
けど、保質期が２４ヶ月って書いてあるから、、、いいか。

中国製といっても、おもいっきり外資だけどね。

中国は中国でも、最近まで英領だった香港は・・・
生産日期（年月日）←親切！　2004/10/11
でもなぜか、Best Beforeは（日月年）表記。01/04/2006

もう1個。

Skittles（やっぱり外資）は、生産も賞味も
dd/mm/yyyy型表記だな。

ではでは、欧州はどうでしょう。
ちょっとレアなロシアもの。

１７０１０４と読み取れます。
17月はないので、dd/mm/yyであるのが明白。

右は北欧。BFはBoyFriend（古）ではなく、BeForeの略？
もしくは北欧語の略だな。

フランス語でも1月はJanと略せるようなので、

ちなみに、アメリカで今まで買ったお菓子類は、賞味期限が不明確（書いてない？）
なものが多くて、今回参照できず。

Swedenみやげ

旅行とお菓子は私の好物です。

海外だろうが、国内だろうが、旅行に行くと必ず現地でお菓子を買う。
けど、例えばそれはGODIVAのような高級品というよりは、スーパーで売ってたりする現地の人が食べるお菓子の方が、心惹かれるのです。

で、この前の欧州旅行のお菓子がまだ残ってるので、そろそろ片付け始めなきゃ。（というのも、働き出してからお菓子食べる時間ないんだよね (ﾉд-｡)ｸｽﾝ）

まずは、Lund（スウェーデン）で買ったお菓子。
Jonatanが「好きかわかんないけど・・・」と紹介してくれた
MalacoのSalt&blandat

saltは英語と同じで塩、blandatはmixedの意味。
グミみたいな感じだけど、、、、く、黒い（怪しい）

勇気を出して食べてみた。
・・・・・。

・・・・・・。ごめんなさい。
黒いのはなんとか飲み込めた感じ。赤に至っては・・・。
ジェリービーンズのハラペーニョやリコリスを当ててしまった時を思い出した。
これは、人気なんだろうか？

裏面を解読してみたら、やっぱリコリスが入ってた。

気を取り直して、
Marabouのチョコレート
Kraftのブランド。ミルクチョコが定番っぽいけど、これはヘーゼルナッツ入り。
すごーーーく美味しい！！チョコとヘーゼルナッツは合うねぇ。ほんとに美味しい。

ちなみに、Schweizernot（oは上に点が付く）と書いてあるけど、Schweizerはswiss、notはnutの意味。

MalacoのAHLGRENS bilar

最初のと同じところの製品ですが、まともそう。車の形をしたグミみたいなマシュマロみたいなキャンディ。

・・・よかった、これは普通に美味しい。人工的な味ではあるけど、いける。
緑、ピンク、白とあります。車らしき形をご確認いただけるかと。

ちなみに、商品名の下に
"Sveriges mest kopta bil"（スウェーデンで一番売れてる車）と･･･笑
えぇ、確かに。。。一袋にこんだけ入ってれば、そうでしょうね。

AHLGRENSというのは、もともとの会社で、化学製品を扱ううちにお菓子も作るようになったそうですが、Malacoに買収されたらしい。

スウェーデンのお菓子って、Lakerolはよく見るけど・・・やっぱ日本じゃ手に入りにくそうだなぁ。残念･･･

パリ（観光編）

パリ滞在も残すところ1日。超駆け足での観光となりました。

やはりはずせません①ルーブル美術館
でも結構閉鎖されているところが多くて、私は前見たものとあまり変わらない感じ･･･。
ちなみに、私の必見項目は①ミロのビーナス、②ニケ、③ハムラビ法典、④モナリザ、⑤ラムセス2世 など。あと、フランス革命関係の絵画をたくさん見た。ちなみに、特別展はアングルだったけど、さすがに見る暇が･･･

ありえないことに、2年前にも閉館中でガッカリだったオランジュリー美術館が未だに開いていなかった。は？

なんだかんだ言って時間を食ってしまったルーブルめぐり。とりあえず地下鉄でOperaへ参り。

豪華。ほんとは中も見学したかったけど、お買い物を優先。
軽く腹ごしらえのため、マックに行ったのですが、マックのお兄さんが黒髪におびただしいタトゥー、うなじピアスなど、SUM４１にいそうな感じの人なのに、ものすごく腰が低くてちょっと面白かった。ちなみにこういうパンクっぽい人嫌いじゃないです♪

締めくくりは･･･ Oh～Champs Elysees♪

きれいな凱旋門。なぜなら、以前は改修中で残念な姿→

なんだかんだいって、私自身はあまりお買い物をしておらず、びくびくだった帰りの飛行機の荷物も、全然20ｋｇまでいってなくて、もっと買い物すればよかったと後悔。しかも飛行機が遅れて、乗継のコペンハーゲンの空港でちっとも買い物できず（涙）
パリのCDGは免税店が少ないし。

ちなみに、免税手続きですが、『EUの最終国で行う』とあったけど、コペンハーゲンで乗継手続きが不要で、税関を通らなかったので、どうやらパリを出るときにやらなきゃいけなかったみたい。ま、私は免税されるほど買い物してないから、大丈夫だったけど。コペンハーゲンで買ったものの免税は、空港内のリファンド・カウンターでできた。

こんな感じで楽しい旅行も終了。
余談ですが、飛行機内でなぜか姉だけが『入国カード』をもらっていた（笑）中国人と思われたのではないかと・・・

パリ（母の友達と会う編②）

ランチで満腹になったあとは、パリの名所を案内してもらいました。
ずっとツアコンをしていたけど、この日はDamien君がガイドをしてくれたので楽だった。

まず、Notre Dame（ノートルダム）へ。
  私は前にも来たことがあったけど、
いつ見ても美しい。

北欧ほどじゃないけど、寒かった。。。風もあったし。

自分の街にはあまり古い建物がない（せいぜい明治）ので、うらやましい。

お次はTour Eiffel エッフェル塔。

あらら・・・雲行きが・・・。

やっぱり雪降ってきちゃった。。。でも上った。
さすがに寒いので2階まで。

中にカフェがあるので、そこで再びまったり談笑。そのうち
雪もやみました。

エッフェル塔の近くには、日本文化会館があり、日本のものが手に入るお店もあるから、MarieさんとDamienのお気に入りの場所らしい。折り紙とか、日本語学習本なんかを買うんだって。ちなみにこの数日後、歌丸師匠の落語会があったらしい。

7時の電車で帰らなければならないので、ここで再び北駅に戻る。RERに乗るのですが、落書きだらけで、地下鉄より危ないとの噂。まぁ、フランスの方と一緒だから多少安心。
でもMarieさんも、パリは怖いって言ってた。

パリ市内の地下鉄RERはカルネという10枚つづりの割引チケットがあり、北欧とは違って自動改札もあるのですが（というか、簡単に飛び越えられることが多いけど）、これがクセモノで、時々正規の切符でも跳ね返されます。しかも、出るときにも切符が返って来て、使用・未使用の切符が混ざると面倒。回収してリサイクルしてください。

お別れはつらいけど、今度はブルターニュのおうちへ遊びに行きたい。モンサンミッシェルも行きたいし♪Damienも日本に来るって言ってたし。今後も家族ぐるみでお付き合いさせていただきたいです。母も本当に喜んでいたので、よかった。友情がより強まったと思います。

ちなみに、この旅行に備えて、母と私は海外で使える３G携帯に替えたのですが、とっても役立ちました。ちょっと高いけどメールもできるしね。

パリ（母の友達と会う編①）

この旅のメインイベント。パリ到着翌日のこと。

私が前回パリに来た直後、母がフランスのマダムとメル友になった。インターネットでメル友募集したところ、そのマダムの息子さんの目にとまり、以来2年ほどメール交換している。英語で。というわけで、私が時々翻訳したりするので、あちらの家族のことなどもよく知っていたのです。

マダムはMarie Angeさんと言って、母より少し年上。息子さん（Damien）は私よりちょっと年下で、超親日家。家族で日本を旅行したり、彼は他に2回ほど日本を訪れているらしい。

Marieさんたちの現住所はブルターニュですが、ご実家がパリ近郊なので、そちらからパリに来てくださるとのこと。だから、列車の着くGare du Nord（北駅）の近くに宿を取り、そこで待ち合わせることに。

私の母はとってもドキドキしてて、でも駅に着いたらすぐに分かったみたい。まずは駅前のカフェでお昼までまったり＆お土産交換。もちろん、母はほとんど英語を話せず（読み書きはちょっとできる）、姉もかなり危うい為、私が専ら通訳をし、あちらはMarieさんもDamienも英会話は全く問題ないし、Damienは日本語も少し分かる。『どうぞ』とか『こっちです』とか自然に出てくるけど、でも独学なんだって！！

しかし、いざとなると、あまりの興奮で母も何を話していいか分からなかったみたい。でも、今回やっっっっと英語を話すことの大切さに気づいたみたい。自分の言葉で伝えたいよね。Marieさんも母語は仏語だけど、英語とっても上手だったもの。でも時々”ｈ”の音が抜けるあたり、フランス人なんだな、って思った。ていうか、親子のフランス語会話が美しくて･･･ちょっと勉強したくなった。

さて、ランチはレストランを予約して下さいました。お医者さんである旦那さんは学会でよくパリに来るらしく、そのおススメのブルターニュ料理レストラン。北駅からほど近い、Chez Michel（シェ・ミッシェル）というお店でした。ランチのコースは30ユーロで、前菜・メイン・デザートを選べる。と言ってもフランス語メニューのため、Damienに教えてもらい、大体みんな同じものを注文。私は

【前菜】ラザニア
【メイン】白身魚とジャガイモ
【デザート】パンナコッタとマドレーヌ

これが・・・美味しいの何のって・・・。海外旅行に行くとそんなに食べない（※中国を除く）私なのですが、これはもう。お上品だけど、敷居は高くない感じで、全部美味しかったです。私があまりに感動した様子だったので、Marieさんがシェフのレシピ本を買ってくれた。

パリ（到着編）

約1時間半。なので機内でのサービスは有料。。。
シャルルドゴール空港に到着すると、日本人をはじめアジア人がたくさん。
北欧ではほとんど見なかったので、なにやら懐かしささえ。。。

電車はラッシュの時間だし、荷物もあるから、安心・安全・確実・快適のため、現地の旅行社に車を手配してもらっちゃいました。ちょっと高くつくけど。

今回はパリで母の友人に会ったりする関係で、北駅（Gare du Nord）近くでホテルを探したところ、Relais de Paris Gare du Nordというお手ごろホテルが見つかった。

北駅は前回、ロンドンからユーロスターで来たときに使ったけど、必ずしも治安の良い場所ではないようです。というか、パリ自体あまり治安が良いとは言えないけど。
母と姉にはくれぐれも・・・と言っていたけど、車から街の様子を見て、ちょっと怯えていた様子。。。

ホテルは改装したらしく、キレイでした。入口は狭いし、おじさんはいつも忙しそうに電話しているけど（笑）　エレベーターは見覚えのある、手動ドア、最高でも2人乗りサイズ。そして人が通ると付く廊下の照明・・・なつかしい。

部屋はちゃんとしたトリプルで、結構広かったです。ただ、照明が少なくて、薄暗い･･･。でもバスタブもあるし、シャワーヘッドは可動だし。

朝食付きでしたが、コペンハーゲンには劣るものの、パン、シリアル、ヨーグルトやリンゴの甘煮とか、美味しかったです。ヨーロッパって、パンにつけるバター、チーズ、ジャム類も豊富だからうれしい。

到着した夜は出歩くのも面倒なので、ホテルの向かいにあったサンドウィッチ屋さんに行った。黒人のおかみさんは英語もできて、明るくて気前の良い人。しかも、チキンのバケット サンドとパイナップルのケーキがべらぼうに美味しくて、滞在中にもう一回行きました。

←あー、また食べたい。

コペンハーゲン（さらば編）

次の目的地へ行くため、出発の日。
ちょっとしかいなかったし、電車は不便なところがあるけど、
コペンハーゲンは本当に素敵な街でした。

飛行機は午後なので、午前中観光する時間くらいあったけど、
出不精二人組は『めんどくさい』とチェックアウト後すぐに空港行きを希望。

私は一人、昨日行き忘れたChristianborg（クリスチャンボー）へ向かった。
周囲を水路に囲まれ、なかなか素敵。コペンハーゲン発祥の地らしいよ。
←白馬の馬車まで走っちゃって。

朝９時くらいなので、開いてないし、寒いし。でも外観だけ見に行った。

確か今は国会議事堂として使われているはず。

ちなみに、ホテルは中央駅に近いAbsalonという中級ホテルでした。エクストラベッドではない、正式なトリプルルームで、バスタブもついてたし、朝食のビュッフェもチーズやパン、デニッシュ、ハム、フルーツなど豊富で美味しかった。前回の香港のホテルが①エクストラベッド狭い②寒いのに冷房で睡眠障害③朝食ついてない　など不満があったため、今回は大満足。欧米ってオイルヒーターでお部屋が暖かい。うちにも欲しい。

さすが北欧？部屋に備えてあるティーセットもIKEA。笑

今回の旅は天気に恵まれ、移動日以外はほとんど雪や雨に悩まされることはなかった。
ホテルを出る直前に雪がちらつき始めたものの、駅まですぐだし、あとは外に出ないから問題なし。

何度も利用したコペンハーゲン中央駅
シャンデリアもあるの。ほんとにカワイイ。
そういえばテレビ局のスタジオまであった。

ちなみに、私がスウェーデンに行っている間、二人はなんとかこの駅からヘルシンオアまで行き、ハムレットの舞台というクロンボー城（世界遺産）へ行ったらしい。その珍道中は想像に難くないが、英語がそうとう不安な二人もなんとか行って帰って来れたことで自信がついたとか。笑

というわけで、再びKastrup空港へ。便利、きれい、でセキュリティチェックの後はお買い物する場所も豊富。でも荷物になるからあんまり買わず、後悔。飛行機の時間もやや遅れたので、かなり時間が余って、でもゲートの待合室さえなかなか開かず、座って待つところがないってのは不満。

雪のため、飛行機になにやらピンクの液体をかけまくってた。
昔、モスクワでも液体かけてたけど、それに比べるとかなり念入りにやっていた模様。北国の冬は大変だね。

コペンハーゲン （観光編）

冬の北欧はオフシーズン（オーロラ見に行く人もいるだろうけど）
コペンハーゲンといえば、Ｔｉｖｏｌｉ公園ですが。。。

ご覧の通り、冬季は休業。
池も凍ってます。

ただでさえ、観光するところが限られる冬なのに、月曜はほとんどの場所が休業。
でも、結局お城とかも外観見てまわるだけでも、1日かかっちゃったけど。

まず、母の希望でロイヤルコペンハーゲンのウェルカムセンターへ。
地図がおかしいのか、ガイドブックがおかしいのか、全然見つからなくて大変だった。。。地下鉄のＦｒｅｄｅｒｉｋｓｂｅｒｇ（フレデリクスベア）が最寄って書いてあったのに、実際はお隣のＳｏｌｂｊｅｒｇ駅のが近い？？少なくとも徒歩5分じゃムリ。

とにかく、入るとまずビデオを見せてもらえる（日本語あり）。で、プロの絵付師さんの作業を見学したり、歴代の陶器を見たり。

とってもノリのいい絵付師さんで、やらせてくれた。→
昔はこの場所に工場があったらしい。今は、ウェルカムセンターと、
２級品も扱うお店がある。さすがに、定番商品（Ｂｌｕｅ　ｆｌｕｔｅｄとか）は
２級でもお高いので、普通のカップ＆ソーサーを買いました。

コペンハーゲンと言えば、この方。

人魚姫。最寄り駅エスターポートからちょっと歩く。しかも途中でＤｉｒｅｃｔｉｏｎが消えるので、どこ？？とウロチョロしてたら、親切な紳士が教えてくれた。

オフシーズンでもここには観光客がちらほら。

ちなみに、アンデルセンが生まれたのはお隣の島らしい。しかし、壊されたり爆破されたり、かわいそうに。。。

閉まってるけど、アメリエンボー城、ローゼンボー離宮なども見に行った。
前者には衛兵さんがいます。←

寒そう・・・大変なお仕事だなぁ。。。
ロンドンでは一緒に写真撮っちゃったけど、
こちらはドアの前を行ったり来たり動いてるので、できなかった。

あとは、円塔に上って街を一望したり、お買い物したり、市庁舎を見て、日が暮れた。

次回はちゃんと中も見よう（=_=）

Lund (Sweden)

コペンハーゲンに到着した翌日、ルンドに住むＪｏｎａｔａｎに会ってきました☆
Ｊｏｎａｔａｎは約1年くらい前に香のところにステイしていたスウェーデン人です。

ここ最近北欧に興味を持ったのは、私の大好きなロックバンド、Ｓｕｇａｒｐｌｕｍ　ＦａｉｒｙやＭａｎｄｏ　Ｄｉａｏがスウェーデン出身だから！！というわけで、スウェーデン語まで勉強し始めたり。その彼らの生まれた国に一歩でも踏み入れたい！と。

また、何ヶ月か前に、日テレの『笑ってコラえて』の日本語学校の旅で、ルンドに行ってたのを見たのも一つのきっかけ。なんか聞いたことある地名･･･と思ったら、Ｊｏｎａｔａｎのいるところだったわけです。

コペンハーゲン中央駅からは海を渡り（オーレスン大橋）、マルメというスウェーデンの都市まで30分ちょっと。さらにルンドまでは15分くらいかな？とっても近いです。

Ｊｏｎａｔａｎに会う以外にも、こっちで手に入らない①スウェーデン語の辞書、②ＳＰＦのシングル　を買う　といった目的もあったりして。

乗り換え間違えたりしながらも、なんとかルンド駅に到着し、無事Ｊｏｎａｔａｎに会えました・・・が！！風貌があまりに変わっていたため気づかず思いっきり無視してしまった。。。ロン毛だし、髪の色暗くなってるし！！（←自然に変わっちゃったらしい）

というわけで、街を一通り案内してもらって、数人でシェアしてるというアパートに招待してもらいました。すっごいカワイイアパートでうらやましい。ランチはＪｏｎａｔａｎ自ら作ってくれて、しかも美味でした。・・・ただ時差ボケで胃がおかしくて、あんまり食べられなかったの、ごめんね。（；－；）

母と姉をコペンハーゲンに残しているため、あんまり長居はできなかったんだけど、ほんとに久しぶりに会えてうれしかった。

ちなみに、日曜であったため、開いてるお店も限られており、目的②は達成できず・・・(-ﾉ-)/Ωﾁｰﾝ

ちなみに②Ｍａｎｄｏ　Ｄｉａｏって、現地では”マンドゥージャオ”に近い発音だった。

コペンハーゲン （交通編）

今回の旅程はワガママがあったため、パッケージツアーではなく、航空券とホテルを予約する個人旅行という形にした。香港に続き海外2回目の母＆姉は最初不安がっていたけど、『どーせ私が全部手配するんだから！』と説得した。

Copenhagen
北欧って遠いイメージがあったけど、実はヨーロッパでは一番日本から近い。コペンハーゲンまでは10～11時間くらいで行っちゃいました。スカンジナビア航空は毎日直行便が出てて、コペンハーゲンから別の都市へのアクセスもよくて、実際この時期コペンハーゲンに滞在する人は少なかった模様（だって寒いもんね・・・）。ちなみに前回はアエロフロートでモスクワ乗継。これはこれで面白かった。苦笑　けど乗継の手続きとか面倒だったし、不親切だし、横入りされるし、絶対コペンハーゲン乗継のが便利だ！！

SAS（Scandinavian Airlines）は初めて。SASって見ると、統計ソフトを思い出してしまう･･･まだ論文の名残が。ちょっと感動したのが
これ。Personal Monitorがついてるの。映画もチャンネルが複数あって選べるし、とても便利でした。行きはウォレス＆グルミットと、Just Like Heavenなんかを見た。後者はずっと見たかったのでうれしかった。たぶん往路便ではOliver Twistも選択肢にあったんだけど、帰りは3月になってしまって、プログラムが変わってたので見れず、残念。でもハリポやWalk the Line入ってたけど。（でもプライドと偏見がウラだった）。

そして、機内食も美味しかった。軽食はランチボックスみたいになっててかわいかったし。でもおかげで食べすぎ、着いた早々胃痛に苦しむバカな私。。。

Copenhagen Kastrup Airportはとっても明るくキレイで、しかも便利ときた。コペンハーゲン中央駅まで、電車で15分程度。しかも、駅はターミナル３と直結。3人で81DKKだったと思うから、1人500円ちょいくらい。決して安くはないな。
ドイツでもよく見たけど、自転車を載せられる車両があるから、大きな荷物でも全然大丈夫だった。飛行機の時間もちょうどよく、電車自体も混んでなかったし。

パリへ行くときも、電車でこの空港まで行ったけど、ほんとに楽だった。そういえば、空港で利用者のアンケートを行ってて、色々聞かれた。どうやって来たかとか、何人で旅行してるだとか。何に使うんだ？

便利なのか不便なのか分からないのは、改札がないこと。また、チケットの券売機が少ない（これは日本が多すぎるのか？）。しかも、時々コインさえ受け付けず、カードで買うハメになった。あちらの人はカードを頻繁に使うみたいなので、まぁ慣れちゃえば便利なのかもしれないけど。
また、改札がないために、ホームのど真ん中に券売機があったりして、知らずに探し回ったり。地下鉄も国鉄（エストー）も車内に検札の人が回ってくるけど、遭遇しないこともあるし。

外国人と券売機の戦いは永遠のテーマかしら？

でも、英語のガイドがあったりなかったりするから、ちょっと旅行者に不親切な点も。窓口やらコンビニやらでもすんなり英語で通じるけど。もともと英語に近い言語だし、スウェーデン語をちょっとやってたから、分かった部分もあって、何とかやり過ごした感じ。駅名とか読めないし。

ちなみに、市内はゾーンに分かれていて、ゾーンごとに値段が違うんだけど、ちょっと２～３駅分でも300円くらいするので、お高いなぁ。。。と。

I'm Home

昨日、無事に帰ってきました☆
春休みとは言えまだお勤めも残っているので、休むのはこれが限界。今回はまるまる1週間。ほんとはもっと長くいたかったけど・・・

この寒いのに、わざわざもっと寒いところに行ってきました。今回もまた、母と姉を連れて。母はずっとヨーロッパに行きたいって行ってたので（でも言葉などの問題で一人じゃムリなんだって）。私も社会人になるし、いつまた行けるか分からないし。前回の旅行でもうツアコンは御免被りたかったんだけどね・・・

今回はコペンハーゲン→（私はスウェーデン）→パリという行程。母のメル友がフランスにいて、彼女に会いたい！ってのが一番の目的でした。
パリだけでもいいところだけど、せっかくだからコペンハーゲン乗り継ぎで降機しちゃえば2度おいしい♪と思って。というか、私が北欧に行きたかったからってのも。。。

というわけで、これからちょこちょこ旅の記録を残したいと思います。

議事堂に登っちゃった人

ビッグベンを背に、一体どこにのぼってるんだ！？議事堂見学中に警備の目をくぐってこんなところに来たらしい・・・すごい。

彼はFathers 4 Justiceのメンバーで、離婚時の親権問題で父親が不利だってことに抗議してるとか。垂れ幕には、
Does Blair care? For Fawkes sake, change family law.
と書いてあるみたい。

For -'s sakeと言う表現は、「お願いだから、一体ぜんたい」のようにちょっとイライラ感を表す表現。私もイギリス人じゃないんで、定かじゃないんだけど、FawkesってのはたぶんGuy Fawkesのことかなーと思いました。

11月5日は、イギリスでGuy Fawkes Dayといって、1605年に国王ジェームズ1世を議事堂もろとも爆破しようとしたGunpowder plot（火薬陰謀事件？）の首謀者の1人Guy Fawkesの人形を燃やしたり、花火をあげたりする日らしい。

彼は、こっそり議事堂の地下に爆薬を運び込んでたんだけど、その現場を抑えられて、捕まったとか。でも本当の首謀者はその後に捕まった人みたい。どちらにせよ、加担者はかなり残虐な拷問と処刑にあったそうです。

なんでこんな事件になったかというと、まず、ジェームズ1世の祖父であるヘンリー8世は離婚・再婚問題でローマ教会と対立して、イギリス国教会を作っちゃった人です。カトリックはこれを禁止しているので・・・。
で、最初の妻はスペインの姫で、その娘がBloody Maryで有名なメアリー1世。彼女はカトリックに戻そうと、プロテスタントを弾圧。それで「血まみれメアリー」なわけです。ジェームズ1世は彼女の息子。

次に王位についたエリザベス1世（ヘンリー8世の二番目の妻の娘）は、再びプロテスタントに戻す。その後にジェームズ1世が即位。彼はカトリックもプロテスタントも弾圧してたようです。そこで起きたのがこの事件。Guy Fawkesさんたちはカトリックです。

昔の『罪人』が祭日になってるのって不思議。今は堂思われてるのか分からないけど、人形を燃やすってかわいそう・・・もう亡くなってるんだからいいじゃない、というのは日本人の発想？

で、議事堂に登っちゃったお父さんの垂れ幕を見て、『議事堂』『離婚』なーんてキーワードからこのことを思い出しちゃいました。やっぱ意図的にFawkes使ったのかな？

昔、Mr. ビーンの役者さんが主演の映画（ジョニー・イングリッシュ？）で、彼が
『ブラッディ・メアリーをウォッカ抜きで』
って注文してて・・・・・・・トマトジュースじゃん（笑）とちょっと面白かったことも思い出した。

イギリスって面白いなー。というか、歴史って面白い。申し訳程度に英文学勉強してたのは随分前に思えるけども・・・

Diddl

Diddlというキャラクターを知ってますか？
ドイツ生まれのネズミ？だと思うんだけど、ヨーロッパでは有名みたいです。私は数年前から隠れファン（？）

随分長いこと付き合ってるドイツの友人、Yvonneが色々教えてくれました。あと、姉も昔ドイツ人の友達とグッズ交換してたみたいです。というのも、日本では売ってないから。

でも最近、ネット上でDiddlグッズを売るお店が出現したみたい。個人輸入して一儲けしようという、私のひそかな野望が･･･（笑）

水彩みたいな、やわらかい絵で、本当にかわいいです。日本に進出しないのが不思議。
これはDiddlinaといって、ミニーちゃんみたいなキャラです。ドイツに遊びに行った時、買いました。パリのデパートでもDiddlコーナーがあった。荷物の問題もあって、あんまり買えず残念。 手のひらサイズのマスコットだけど、１２星座をモチーフにしたデザインになってます。これは乙女座（Jungfrau）です。

両方とも、↑と一緒に買った。左はキーホルダー型ボールペンで、イニシャル入り。右は便箋（Puzzle-Blockシリーズ）。6種類あって、つなげることができる。

これはDiddlの友達？Pimboliというクマさん。Diddlと同じくらい人気が出てるみたい。個人的にはこっちのが好きかも。たしか、Diddlにはなんかペットがいたような気がするんだけど・・・ミッキーは（ネズミのくせに）プルート（イヌ）飼ってるし、キティーちゃんもハムスター？飼ってるらしいし。動物間にも主従関係？？
バレンタイン前だったから、ハートを持ってるグッズが多くて、頭の上にはドイツ語でI Love youと書いてあります☆

これは結構大きいぬいぐるみなんだけど、ドイツではなく、
3年前に北京の（今はなき）秀水市場の露店で買いました（しかも値切って）。
本物・・だと思うんだけど。工場流れモノがあの市場に集まるって聞いたし。欧州でもぬいぐるみはほとんど中国産だしね。北京で出会えると思わなかったので、びっくりしました。
多分２０元（当時３００円くらい）で買ったと思うんだけど・・・

香港～買い物編～

一番の目的と言っても過言ではない･･･
この1年、常に課題に負われ（まぁ、今でもだけど）、ストレスで胃腸までやられた私。。。大好きな買い物もあんまりできない1年、香港に来た時くらい、贅沢してもいいじゃないの･･･

と、言い聞かせ、ほとんど自分のために買い物してきました。
香港はその昔、「買い物天国」って呼ばれてたらしい。私としては、元イギリス領なのでイギリス系のお店が多く出店しているというところが大きなポイントでした。物価がどうこうよりもね。本土に比べたら物価ものすごく高いし。でもずっと欲しかったＦＵＲＬＡのバッグも買っちゃった･･･当分は節約だわ。

①Ｌｉｎｋｓ　ｏｆ　Ｌｏｎｄｏｎ
その名の通り、ロンドンにあるアクセサリーのお店。特に銀製品が有名らしく、Ｃｈａｒｍと呼ばれるペンダントヘッドの種類がたくさんあって、ブレスレットに好みでつけたりして楽しめるらしい。私はハートのＣｈａｒｍと短めのチェーンを合わせてペンダントにしました。留める部分が、写真のようになっているのがこのお店の特徴みたい。母はブルートパーズと銀でできたネックレスを買っていました。
私は金より銀が好きだけど、やはりサビやすいのが問題。かといってプラチナは高いから、ホワイトゴールドにしたりしてたけど、ここの銀は一応サビ防止加工されてい
るみたい。めったにアクセをつけない私だけど、たまには☆

②Ｍａｒｋｓ　ａｎｄ　Ｓｐｅｎｃｅｒ

イギリスにある百貨店。前回ロンドンに行ったときも色々買い物をしました。値段や商品が私好みなので大好き。ここではお菓子と、靴、小物類を買いました。イースターが近いこともあって、うさぎやひよこ、卵の形をしたお菓子がいっぱい売ってて可愛らしかった。しかし、中国語でＭａｓａ（広東語なのでピンインは分からない）？略しすぎじゃない？九龍の大型ショッピングモールのＨａｒｂｏｒ　Ｃｉｔｙや中環のＱｕｅｅｎ’ｓ　Ｒｏａｄにある。

③Ｐｒｅｔ　Ａ　Ｍａｎｇｅｒ

こちらもロンドン発。スタバやドトールみたいなカフェなんだけど、とっても健康志向。ロンドンで行ってとても気に入ったので、持ち帰りですむーじーやらチョコやらを買った。実は1年前まで日本にもお店があったらしいけど、撤退･･･Ｂｏｏｔｓといい、イギリス系弱いのかな。

④女人街
旺角にある商店街。このへんは下町系で、食材を売ってる通りなんかもあった。生きてる鶏絞めてたり･･･
私の印象は、北京の秀水市場。繁華街でも「ニセモノバッグ、トケイ」って話しかけられたけど、ここにもそういったものが（笑）　もちろん値段交渉可。強引に北京語でいろいろ値引きしてもらった。しかし、物価のあまりの違いにびっくりするよ。

おまけ☆王力宏

大好きな王力宏のＮｅｗアルバムしかもＶＣＤ付きが売ってたので、もちろん買ってきました。
なかなか素敵でした。ふふ。

セブンイレブンもあちこちにあって、現地系お菓子類も購入。Ｑｏｏの乳酸飲料があって、かわいいし、おいしかった。なんで日本にはないんだろ？あと、サンザシ入りの烏龍茶とか。カップヌードルもやたらと種類が豊富な気がする。かさばるから買えなかったけど。

香港～食編～

食在中国。香港も正真正銘中国だし。しかし、最近食が細いので、あんまり食べられなかった･･･泣

①ＲＩＣＥ 西龍傅香飯〔米團〕のおにぎり

地下鉄の構内にお店があって、ゴハンの種類やトッピングを選べる。トッピングの種類も豊富。面倒だから、栄養士お勧めメニューを注文した。私のは『提高免疫力之選』で紫＆茶米に6種の具。中でも五香牛肉がおいしかった。デザートや飲み物も豊富で、大変満足です。お店の女の子に普通話（国語って言ってたけど）ができる人がいたので助かりました。

②糖朝の豆腐花

日本でも有名な『糖朝』。青山店にもよく行きます。そこでも一番好きなのが豆腐花に小豆の汁がかかってるこれ。
母と姉は杏仁汁にしてた。糖朝の本店は九龍の尖沙咀から歩いて10分くらいの広東路にあります。結構広くて、夕方だったから空いてた。糖朝で無料で出してくれる鉄観音茶も大好き。

③ホテル近くの飯店
夜は火鍋がメインらしく、結局餃子や包子を食べられなくて残念･･･ちなみに朝ごはんはホテルのレストランでお粥と油条を食べた。飲茶したかったなぁ。

ゆで海老。お店の水槽で元気に泳いでたやつなのでプリプリ。唐辛子の入ったタレにつけて食べる。時価だったらしく、高かったみたいだけど、食べきれず。

コーンスープ。これは一番のお気に入り。貝柱も入ってて、もーいくらでも食べられそう。中華のコーンスープはもともと好きだったけど、これはすばらしかった。いつか、中華料理が作れるようになりたいけど、、、ものすごい難しそう。でもこのスープってもともとどこの料理なんだろうか？

楊州炒飯。お米は細長く、えび、冬瓜、ねぎ、ハムなどが入っていて、サラサラです。炒飯好きの姉も大満足。

お店のおじさんが何度も勧めるので、頼んでみた。おじさんとは広東語とカタコトの日本語と英語と北京語で交渉してたので、なかなか大変だった。「クラブ（crab）」って聞こえたから、カニかと思ったら、貝だった。細長い貝とピーマンやねぎなどがちょっと辛めのあんで炒めてあるような料理。名前はしらないけど、とにかくおいしかった。

あー、今度行くときはもっと食べたい。
ちなみに、現地のファーストフード店を巡るのも好きです。ご当地メニューとかあって楽しいから。マックのチキンナゲットについてくるソースはＢＢＱじゃなくて甘辛ソースだった。でもおいしい。あと、タコスみないなメニューもあって、是非試してみたかったなー。

香港～観光編～

というわけで、帰ってきました。
母娘3人旅、団体行動が苦手なので、フリーにしたんだけど、それでも夜発朝帰国だったので、実質2日間しか遊べませんでした。だからこそ、絞ってガツガツ回って･･･その結果、昨日帰ってから爆睡。旅行中に誕生日を迎えた母の、素敵な思い出になったらいいな。

母＆姉は初海外、初飛行機、しかも地図が読めないというか読もうとしない、日本語しかできない・・・ということで、ツアコン状態の私。私だって香港は初めてなのにぃ。広東語も知らないし、サバイバル北京語と英語でやりすごしました。

総合的な感想は、「香港はやはり中国だった」。中国は3年ぶりの私、懐かしい気持ちになりました。
というわけで、まずは「観光編」です☆

天気予報は見事にはずれ、連日15℃以下でむしろ日本より寒かった。薄手の服しかなくて、寒い思いをしました。しかも、ホテルもバスも冷房が･･･。富の象徴だかなんだか知らないけど、あなたたちエネルギー無駄遣いしすぎ。ＴＶでは節電のＣＭしてたけど。しかも、分厚い雲に、時に小雨。。。一日目は買い物にまわし、二日目に期待したものの、願い叶わず。

ホテルは九龍半島だったので、まず一番の繁華街、尖沙咀からスターフェリーで香港島まで。約10分くらい。停泊中に激揺れしてたため、早くも酔った。

ちなみに、香港ではＳｕｉｃａみたいな八達通（Ｏｃｔｏｐｕｓ）というＩＣカードがあって、電車、地下鉄、バス、セブン、マックなどで使える。旅行者用のＳｏｌｄタイプを買おうと思ったのに、最寄駅で売ってなかったから、通常タイプ（$150でデポジットが$50）を買いました。昨年から3ヶ月以内に返却すると＄７徴収されることになったんだって。チャージ金は3年有効らしいから、持ち帰った。また行くぞ。

フェリーで中環に着き、バスに乗って浅水湾（Ｒｅｐｕｌｓｅ　Ｂａｙ）に向った。母が「慕情」という映画の舞台だから行きたい！って言ってたので。香港のバスはほとんど2階建て。ロンドンと一緒ね。せっかくだから２階に乗ったけど、トンネルとかスレスレでスリルがあります。笑　トンネルを抜けると･･･島の反対側の海･･･の崖。くねくね細い路を行くＤｏｕｂｌｅ－ｄｅｃｋｅｒ。運転手さんすごい。ボケーっと景色を見てたら、目的地を過ぎて、赤柱（Ｓｔａｎｌｅｙ）まで行ってしまった。

せっかくだから、降りて観光。天后廟などを見て、みやげ物屋さんでお買い物。花文字を書いてる呉さんという人が、日本にお仕事で行ったことがあるらしくて、日本語ペラペラ。独学らしいけど、すごいうまい。北京語も分かってくれた。またバスで浅水湾に戻ったけど、ここは砂浜を眺めただけでおしまい。（道が狭くて車に轢かれそうになったし）。

再びバスで中環まで戻る。皇后大路（Ｑｕｅｅｎ’ｓ　Ｒｏａｄ）から歩いてピークトラムの駅まで向かい、トラムに乗ってビクトリアピークへ！片道$20。ものすごい傾斜で、帰りは後ろ向きに降りるのがイヤで、小型バスにした（$7.4）。ま、この天気だから、こんなもん。$20の景色ですな。

中環に戻って、今度は半山区（Ｍｉｄ－Ｌｅｖｅｌｓ）にのぼるエスカレータへ。全長800Ｍだったかな？色々なお店が軒を連ねている間を抜けていく感じ。もっとゆっくり見たかったけど、時間もないから一番上までいけなかった。

Disney Land

香港迪士尼楽園

香港ディズニーランドが、この秋に開園するそうです。HPもおもしろいです。いろんな意味で。笑
カタカナ語に慣れてしまった日本人としては、意味や音で漢字を当てはめているのがおもしろくてたまらない。
漢字を大事にする文化、すばらしい。

米奇老鼠（ミッキー）はともかく、私のベストヒットは唐老鴨･･･爆笑
上海のAIESECerとディズニーの話をしてたら、プーさんのことをウィニーって呼んでるのが気になった。たしかにWinnie the Poohが本名だと思うけど、なぜ日本ではプーさんなんだろうか？というわけで、
『小熊維尼』なんかかわいい。ちなみに、朋友の中にティガーが入ってないよぅ･･かわいそうに。
『小飛象』･･･確かに、空飛ぶ小象だ･･･。

どうでもいいけど、今日は発表会で明海大学に行ったのですが、舞浜の隣なので、とっても後ろ髪を引かれる思いでした･･・しかし、京葉線の東京駅はなんであんなに遠いんでしょうか･･･？

名古屋→京都

名古屋城　しゃちほこ！（って雌雄だって知らなかった。うろこが2枚少ないのが雌らしい）

せっかくＰＣ持参したのに、P-inの調子がずっと悪くて、こちら(京都)では全く繋がらなくなった。。。だからホテルのＰＣから。部屋にＬＡＮ来てないなんて、、使えない。だからたまった分一気にアップしました。

学会も終わって半日観光に費やしました。
結構暑かったけど、ホテルから30分歩いて名古屋城に。お城に行くのは初めて。
しかし、途中で通り雨に降られるし・・・相変わらずついてない。

お昼には最後のＭＵＳＴ　ＤＩＳＨ（？）

味噌煮込みうどーん
ＮＺの方に紹介してもらい、タクシーの運転手さんに場所を教えてもらった山本屋さん。
すっごい丁寧な接客で、しかも美味しい☆はねるので、前掛けをして食べます。

その後くれまいと別れて、名古屋から家族旅行に合流予定だったんだけど、
実はのぞみと宿泊のパックツアーで、私のチケットは新横からのでした。通常の乗車券と違うし、途中乗車許してもらえるかなーでも指定席だし、なんとしてでも乗ってやる！と泣き落とす気満々で改札に行ったら、お兄さんがあっさり通してくれて拍子抜けしてしまった。

昨日までの格安ホテルから、突然高級ホテルに変わって、なんか落ち着かない。レストランでもいちいち人が来て気が散るし、値段なんて昨日までの5倍以上じゃん。。。
その割にはネット環境悪いし・・・

名古屋二日目

だって、つまんなかったんだもん・・・

大会二日目。内容は割愛。
朝9時から夕方7時まで講演・発表のオンパレード。

さしあたり、昨日の和菓子屋さんでお菓子を・・・これで180円よ！
鮎、麩饅頭、栗あんどら焼き

それから、くすけんさんに名古屋までお越しいただいて、しかも超すてきな中華レストランに連れて行ってもらいました☆
くれまいとくすけんさんは初顔合わせだと思うけど、元アイセッカーってどうも違和感ないよね。
ちょっと早めの誕生祝いまでしていただいて、感謝感激あめあられでございます（＞＜）

しかし、突然の大雨。雷もごろぴかだったし。。。もう。。。
しかも雷におどろいて（？）、定期入れをごっそりどこかに落としてしまいました（泣）うぅぅ
金目のものはあんまないけど、学生証と、ペットの写真が痛い。

くすけんさん、雨のなかわざわざありがとう☆
今度は東京でね！

名古屋に来てます☆

■名古屋コーチン■うまい！！

名古屋に来てます！いやー大きな街ですね。
ホテルも値段の割にとてもよいです。

今日は、他大の院生（授業メイト）と名古屋コーチンを食べに行きました。
三河赤鶏もいただいたけど、めっちゃおいしい！！！
甘辛のたれで揚げられた手羽先、たまりません！！！

会場は中京大学ですが、きれいすぎて大学と思えない。校内に水が流れてますけど！？
カフェみたいだし。ラウンジもいっぱいあって。。。

門を出たすぐそばに、和菓子屋さんを発見！！
しかもわらびもち63円、みたらし42円
、しかもおいしい！
次はドラ焼きとカステラ試します。

長野に行ってきました★

というわけで、長かったようで短い小旅行･･･もとい、学会でした。
私の『初長野・先祖の香りがする街の旅』をダイジェスト版でお送りします。

○○１日目『清』○○
新宿発高速バスで長野まで約４時間。ちなみに値段は成田までのバスより安い。地名を見ても何県なのかさっぱり分からない。途中の休憩所で、群馬県だということを知ったり。
１４時　長野駅着　お昼を食べて、『ぐるりんバス』（１００円）に乗ったら、方向を間違えて遠回り。まぁ、市内観光ということで。ネット予約した旅館に荷物を置いて、善光寺へGo!!　多少傾斜はあるけど、まっすぐ参道があるので、歩いていった。
善光寺は、「大化の改新」前からあるらしい。おぉ！ちなみに山門は修復中。。。パリの凱旋門の悪夢がまた。すでに４時をまわっていたので、見る時間がわずか。すべり込みで『戒檀めぐり』とやらを。本堂の下に地下道があるんだけど、ほんとに真っ暗で、壁つたいに歩かないと大変なことに。うしろのおじさん（トルコ人？）につかまれたし･･･
暗くて狭い道は『産道』を表してるらしく、心を無にしてそこを通ることで、出てきた時Re-birthの状態になれるらしい。実は、閉所暗所恐怖症気味なので、くれまいの「柱があるよ」「まがったよ」の言葉に助けられながらなんとか出られた。お経の蔵もまわしてきたし、なんか、心が清らかになった気がします。
しかし･･･お店閉まるのはやっ！！　仕方ないので駅前まで出て、『油や』でかけそばをいただきました。信州といえばそば！

○○２日目『温』○○
学会の会場へ。参道ぞいなので、歩いていけた。要綱があまりに分厚くて鬱。。。。
英語教育に携わる小中高の先生、大学教授、大学院生などなどが発表。ふむふむ。
フォーラムが終わって１７時、お昼にチェックした『裾花温泉』へ行く。この日は大きなお祭り、びんずるの日だったので、すでに中心街は通行止めになってた。行きはなんとかタクシーで温泉に。露天風呂、サウナ、ジャグジー、足ツボ湯があって本当に極楽極楽･･･褐色ににごったお湯で、カルシウムが多いらしい。露天風呂目の前が絶壁の山。温泉最高！！つかりすぎてのぼせ気味。
もちろん湯上りにはコーヒー牛乳で。
お祭りを横目に歩いていたら、通りで踊ってたヤンキー風お兄さんがお酒をくれた。長野の人はいい人だねぇ。それとも『美人の湯』の効果かしら？（笑）というわけで歩きながら一缶あけたら、宿についてばたんきゅう。
しかし、街をあげてのお祭りっていいね。

○○３日目『食』○○
朝９時から連続８つの発表を聞いて、バスの時間から午後はどうせ途中で抜けなきゃいけないので、お昼で切り上げて再び善光寺へ！でも日曜ということで混んでたので、戒檀めぐりはあきらめて、参道でおやきとソフトクリームを頂いた。それからお土産を買って、スタバで一休みして、バスに乗り込んだ。私の中ではまだお盆じゃなかったんだけど、世間的にはそうだったらしく、渋滞･････しかも豪雨。
埼玉に入ると、高速の左手、右手に花火大会が見えた。
疲れた～とか言いながら、バスの４時間半はくれまいとずっとしゃべり通してたのでした。

さて・・・レポートが。。。

夏の予定

院生に夏休みはない。なんて言わせない。
といいつつ、授業とか補講みたいなのもあるし、やっぱり忙しそうです。
暑いから家でひっきーしながら勉強かなぁ。もしくは図書館。。。

9月3日～5日　JACET大会＠名古屋
9月6日～9日　家族旅行＠京都

母「学会っていつなの？」
私「9月3・4･5」
母「じゃあ京都は6日からね」
私「！！？？」
名古屋から合流かよ･･･確かに交通費は浮くけども・・・

長野は初めてなのでワクワクしてます。実は母方の父の故郷なのです。母方の家系は木曽源氏で、長野に本家があるそうです。でもあんまりつながりないから訪ねないけど。あ、ちなみに上の絵はご主人の木曽義仲らしい。
善光寺とかーりんご、信州そば、野沢菜？？もはや学会より、観光のことしか頭にない。笑
